Why would you claim a distant relative as a SIBLING? Sibling means what it means, brothers/sisters from the same parents. Half siblings/step siblings are also allowed but you need to share at least one parent with them.

Bankkydarry:
Good morning please I want to ask that to claim the 15 points on siblings must the person be only your brother or sister born by the same parents as you? Or some other distant relatives

Tola, y now? Don't you think it's too early to set her free? You should have allowed them to waste more of her time before giving her the right info. Some people deserve to learn their lessons the hard way. You want to go to 'the abroad' but can't put in the work to make it work. O ma she o.

Everyone's destiny is in his or her hands...

NB: The thing dey sweet my belle b4 you decided to guide her aright...lol

Thank you people. This is really sad. This agents are heartless. Why will they advice something with such implication?

Please does that mean he can't claim the 15 points for siblings, since they have different father details on the data base?

ShoeShineGuy:
Lol at the bolded..
But frankly, I would advise same thing to avert the imminent disaster.

Start now to snap pictures. Attaach LOE explaining that you didn't know you'd do EE 8 years ago so you don't have pics for the time.

clearly stated on ircc website. Direct sibling with atleast one same parent or step sibling from another marriage by parents. No distant relative

Thanks BeuHarry.
I engaged him further and he said the agent that helped with his Canadian student visa application actually advised he used his uncle which was the sponsor as his father, so that is a misrepresentation. Now, he has family ties in Canada, his elder brother and because of the previous misrepresentation, they have different fathers on the immigration database. Please how can he regularise that?

Hello Truetosin,

He may or not be able to defend himself if he can argue and be precise with the right information irrespective of the decision outcome. How would this be of benefit to him if the application is refused now transcends to the future of not been bothered by the previous wrongful information in any further correspondence or dealing with IRCC.
This is if the 15 points for sibling is important to you and worth the consequences.

This could be done in these suggested ways below and note that there is a disclaimer to this opinionated advice or suggestion, which ever suits it most.

Before he begins any future application with IRCC, he should draft a well-constructed and concise letter to that effect through email and/or webform with the appropriate previous application details, even if the agent is registered or not. The letter should express these viewpoints:

1. It should contain a remorseful, emotional and polite admission of wrongdoing.

2. He shouldn't mention of any intent to apply for any of IRCC programs but to provide clarification to IRCC on some sensitive wrong information that could induce error after recently discovering that the agent he sought service from was fraudulent and lacked moral integrity.

3. Accept the blame on the basis that he should have did a step-by-step follow-up on the application but due to his personal busy engagements could not do so and also based the refusal of the agent to release sufficient information regarding your application including the details of his GcKey online account. This is more easier if the agent is registered but none of these agents in Nigeria are registered.

4. That an affidavit 'has been' deposed to the effect and that he felt the need to inform IRCC for outright transparency even though the application has been finalized. Attached the affidavit and other legal documents to ascertain the right claim.

5. That he could not take legal actions against the agent due to no signed contract as it was verbally agreed upon/sealed based on mutual trust.

N.B: until a response is gotten from IRCC, he should consider using his time for something else and shouldn't deem it well to file in for EE IF claiming sibling point is the goal.

OR

He could file in the EE application with a LOE detailing the aforementioned and with open arms be ready to accept whatever comes forth.

Disclaimer: this is not a legal advice but just an opinion.

All the best

This. Someone suggested a lie and he agreed. How is it the agent's fault? You had the option to decline. The brother now that is allegedly in Canada may not even be the brother. Just forget about sibling point and use your fake father, let it be that you share same mother. And soak rosary inside water make dem no nab you. In fact, forget about it all. Go to Asia angry

I honestly think we don't have to quote when we have nothing to say...

For the fact that I know there's a man that can help with PCC when you aren't available should let you know that I have read through.

I only need Inspector Moshood's contact, is that a problem?
