phoinix: Phoinix, i need to get something clear, are the charges 2 percent of our profit or 2 percent of capital + profit. If its capital plus profit then am thinking 4 percent will be at a loss because before you made profit at all, about 1 percent of your capital had been deducted from buying the stock, so its like charging your capital twice in the process of buying and selling. If the percentage is just profit alone, then you seem right pocketing 2 percent out of 4 percent gain... what do you think? |

Danniee:Well, it depends on you eventually... Seplat has been on full offer at -10% for a while now. When supply exceeds demand, price drops... So its almost certain that if this full offer continues, Seplat will drop to 347.4... Its only a matter of when someone is willing to cough up the 35million naira approximately that is needed for the price drop to happen. Will the full offer stop after this price drops? Will someone be willing to cough up another 31 million to make it drop another 10%? At what price will bids appear for this stock Those are questions Mr Market will answer with time.... So, I am asking you your question back, is seplat a good buy at 347.4 2 Likes |

RabbiDoracle: There is no bewilderment. The Fed money you were waiting for is not coming. The FPIs that are already inside are looking for ways out. The local players with financial muscle are doing siddon look. If the index can get back to January 2020 level before year end it should be considered a win. One way of making money from stock investment i.e. dividend is still viable. Better in those that pay twice if bought at the right price. 7 Likes |

Mcy56: That dividend is already priced in. It can only move price of companies without interim dividend history if they decide to surprise the market. Did you not notice final dividend had marginal impact on prices of most stocks with notable exceptions being those that combined it with bonus? |

phoinix: There is only a 33% probability it will rise higher than N5. That means the odds are stacked against you making that 2%. Looking at the closing price now I see that it closed flat. I hope you got your 20k or 2% from that trade. 1 Like |

CashDiMkpa: I actually took some time to calculate the probability of hitting 5.2 From the chart I posted above out of 24 bars, 7 crossed the 5.2 mark with good margin. Meaning that in the last 24 trading days, 7 of these days traded at 5.2 atleast briefly. The probability of hitting 5.2 is 7÷24 = 0.29 or 29%. Meaning that each subsequent trading day has a chance of 29%, individually. Now, the fun part. What is the probability that price will trade at 5.2 atleast once in the next 4 days (Monday to Thursday) ? I like using the complement as it makes things easier. Probability that price will not hit 5.2 in a given day is 1-0.29 = 0.708 or 71% Probability that price will not hit 5.2 not even once in 4 days is 0.708^4 = 0.25 or 25% Finally, probability that price will hit 5.2 atleast once in 4 days is 1-0.25 = 0.75 or 75% Conclusion: there is a 75% chance that my exit point will actualize within the next 4 trading days. 2 Likes |

TLAX: My Oga i totally agree with u but nevertheless i think it wld come (i.e. Fed Money) though it wld be late and might not be much. The reasons are Meffy wld eventually resolve the FX issues (possibly b4 d year end), d printing is going to be on till 2022 (as guided by Powel), So my take is if Meffy solve d FX issues before end of q1 2021 some of it wld eventually find its way down. 1 Like |

phoinix: So you now see that the odds were against you winning that trade on Friday and spending that 20k this weekend. Your day scalping or day trade set up failed cos once it does not perform in minutes or intra day it has failed. Scalping may appear like taking random positions but it requires statistical modeling. Again it's not all stocks that you can successfully do day trading on. FBNH will be a difficult set up cos of its character. You may still win with it but just be aware any day trade or scalping win here is pure luck. Enjoy. 1 Like |

phoinix: Man you actually don't have enough experience in this despite claiming the opposite. I figured when you didn't know that moving the price of Seplat would take more money than FCMB. In your probability calculations, how do you factor in your volume? If price did hit 5.2, how about volume? It might just be a few hundreds trading at that price. In fact, if you did buy FBNH at 5 naira, 5.2 might not even be your BEP let alone making 2% at it. |

IYGEAL: Given that the list traded volume in the last 24 trading days is 4 million units, my small 105k will likely be filled if price gets to 5.2 . Regarding SEPLAT and FCMB, are you serious? Do you need experience to know that 1.9 is much smaller than 347? |
