A decade is equivalent to 10years, so 4 decades is equivalent to 40years. If you have lived in the barracks for 4 decades, that means you are at least 40years. Interesting!

Kindly take the effort to articulate your thoughts and write in a comprehensible manner. The Army watches out for these things. Besides, you are hurting our eyes here.

Thanks.

Datz the more reason I do lot of observation here....I don't talk much...just little contribution and am done....
Thanks

lolll. No wahala

I will give you a scenario

In the Vietnam war, it was said that mustangs(those that were NCOs which later became commissioned) made better officers than westpoint cadets...the reasons given were maturity and experience in combat situations. You see that Maturity factor ehn, it is very key...

In combat, men are already hyper-stressed and it takes an emotionally intelligent officer to manage such men in order to achieve stated objectives and complete assigned missions....

I personally feel its a good idea to assign more mature leaders.

God will surely see us through

My only worry is the diminished morale of the fighting men in the NE due to inadequate care and support.

I also have another question for the experienced candidates in the house. I am asking on behalf of a friend

He is already 28 this year (July 1 ) and he had his BSc in 2011 and Msc in 2019, is he still eligible for SSC?

cc Ugo4u, odimbanmamdi, sikowitz, ltchisom, and many others

Thanks in anticipation

Lol...you see your depravity.

So if COAS' candidate is correctly suspected of having a grossly abnormal ECG result, he will still be allowed to go for training abi? You think because he is from the COAS, he will not be subjected to the due diligence of preliminary medical screening, at least, abi?

Edit your post so that people who just began reading the conversation won't have to attack you not knowing that you have already apologized, just like i did.

It is just an advise though.

Cheers bro!

One can't say untill army opens their registration portal and list the requirements they need.
But going by last year's requirements your friend would have been eligible to go for SSC as the age cap was 28 by January 2020.

You are very very correct. There are certain things institutionalization (passing through NDA) cant afford one. Only experience and age can provide them. And Emotional Intelligence is one of them.

God preserve our fighting officers.

ideally he has a more recent certificate to tender and there’s no way the army would reject a masters expect if some other issues dey.. that additional age can be overlooked.. a lot of things are overlooked during screening
Plus he’s still be 28 by commencement of training in January 2021..

Chill till portal gets opened. The army may state 29 as maximum age.

But, to be a little bit proactive, he can begin now to swear affidavits and align his documents to a reduced age.

I doubt if army will compromise on age issue, they may tell you to go and get an affidavit and make sure all your credentials correspond with the age but for them to overlook it somewhat Impossible except you are younger than required age they'll wave it off easily.
This is to also protect the said candidate in the future because the age may come to hunt such a person in service. You may be retired prematurely if your age exceed the threshold alloted to a certain rank. What they can do if they so need the person is to push such a one to DSSC cos the age limit is higher.

No lele

They may increase their intake this year or lower some of their requirements....who knows

With the way officers are dying (along with youth interests in the Army), this years screening would be very interesting

itll be like course 45... pass medicals and they’ll take you irrespective of what the board scores you..people won’t turn up for screening..

Bro, what could be the reason for such withdrawal?

Is it a conspiracy to ensure that Rcs are kept alive so that they become leaders in the future or what?

But it might not be unrelated to what Odimba said sometimes maturity comes with positive add-ons.
Moreover the deaths are becoming too much.
