In my opinion Bokoharam has relocated to Katsina and other adjoining states. You can make me believe the recent spike in banditry and kidnapping for ransom isn't linked to the terror group. Last week in Kaduna 30 people were kidnapped in Millennium city 2 were killed in the process and a N900m ransom is being demanded. 5 Likes 1 Share

Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have continued to conduct intelligence-based operations which continues to degrade Boko Haram /Islamic State of West Africa Province across the Theatre. Following credible intelligence, the gallant troops of of Operation LAFIYA DOLE on 17 July 20 targeted the terrorists on their market activities and undercover movement around Kolofata, a border town with Cameroon where troops of Strong Response Area (SRA) Pulka neutralized 6 Boko Haram terrorists attempting to cross from Cameroon Border towards Sambisa Axis. 2. Weapons and equipment captured from the terrorists include 3 AK 47 rifles, Magazine with 48 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one Honda Salon Car, one Motorcycle, 8 Bicycles, 3 Phones with multiple Sims and Memory Cards and 5 copies of the Holy Qur’an, among others. Additionally, there was also a letter written in Hausa to Abu Fatima (Boko Haram top commander),documents and other logistics. Shortly after the successful operation, the enemy communication intercept confirmed killing of a top Boko Haram Commander named Sayinna and other fighters during the encounter. The other slayed terrorists were suspected to be Imam and Mansur to Abu Fatima who hibernate in Sambisa forest. 3. Additionally, in recent times troops have been delving serious blows to BHT/ISWAP terrorists in the North East. It could be recalled that the troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE gallantly neutralized 8 prominent leaders of the disorganized, marauding elements of the terrorists in their futile attempt to infiltrate Army Super Camp Damasak. During such misadventure, the terrorists met their waterloo on 2 July, 2020 when they were led by their top leaders (Amirs) to attack the troops in Damasak from 2 flanks in an effort to cause them massive casualty. However, with own troops’ doggedness, superior fire power and maneuver the terrorists were devastated and the rest escaped in total disarray. 4. The Military successes of Operation LAFIYA DOLE particularly since the turn of the year 2020, has continually caused confusion and disharmony in the camps of the insurgents. This is evident by the frequent changes in ISWAP leadership within a short period and these was largely due to the several losses inflicted on them by own troops in both men, weapons and equipment. 5. Amongst the top BHT/ISWAP leaders killed during the encounter at Damasak and buried by the terrorists at Goski village in the early hours of 3 Jul 20 were: a. Tumbun Dabino – Ba Issoufou. b. Tumbun Bororo – Amir Batam. c. Tumbun Jaki – Almustapha. d. Tumbun Bagaruwa – Modou Kollo. e. Dogon Tchoukou – Issah. f. Tumbun Rakke – Mustapha Woulama. h. Tumbun Dila – Boukar Kowa. i. Tumbun Mita – Abou Aisha. 6. The series of successes so far recorded has led to several of the insurgents surrendering in their numbers. They voluntarily admitted that the insurgency is driven more by need for money, power, greed and criminality and less of any ideology. 7. The High Command of the Armed Forces of Nigeria has commended all the security agencies operating in the North East Zone, for their sustained successes. They are further urged to remain resolute and maintain the momentum of onslaught against the enemies of our country. SamuelAnyawu:U don't understand what am saying, Definitely no soldier will rear cow in a base or FOB common sense. What am saying is a soldier deployed to a war theatre should have no business whatsoever, doing such type of business, It's indicipline I remember in tvc a journalist once said some soldiers are not in maiduguri to fight but do ciw business, also a General once warned his men about doing cow business in maiduguri... They are there to fight and nothing more, That why we keep getting kicked when thier minds and hearts aren't in the right place. 5 Likes 1 Share |

ugo4u:Infact all civil servant by virtue of law can go into agricultural business, but come and see mediacl doctors in govt hospitals opening thier own private hospital while in govt. employmanet or law lecturers opening chambers, which may be considered illegal Here it is wrong for soldiers on duty in a theatre to engange in such business, within such theatre since they are considered to be in awe zone. If not that the brass and govt are not taking it serious as to penalise soldiers and civilians erring . |

One of the mistake Nigerian military and in extension FG did was not buying up the stash of weapons in Post Ghadafi's Libya. The NIA, NSA should have played an active role in this, we would have killed 2 or more birds with one stone i.e getting sophisticated weapons at giveaway prices & to a reasonable extent controlled the illegal proliferation of arms in the west African sub-region, but we let that golden opportunity pass us. The then gov't of the day together with the service Chiefs were more interested in stashing their soakaways and Geepee tanks with hard currencies, the status quo still remains the same. We are always reactive, being proactive is not our thing. Everyone leverages on any opportunity they get to enrich themselves, no sense of Patriotism whatsoever. 12 Likes |

ugo4u: I understand the need for this , but how much equipment were we going to buy in both quantity to affect the proliferation and at what price; can we afford it. Are we going to be going around buying ak 47s or RPGs launchers, that we have in abundance or hmg that we can't finish emptying the stocks ? Or the heavier more technical weapons that we ourselves need technical expertise to keep worthy and would be totally useless?. I'm not saying your point is useless, but bailing water from an ocean, is it the same as draining the ocean? I think what would have been a little more effective if there was the political will, rather than buying the small arms was setting up off UN missions, African mission and regional missions, with the Express mandate of tracking and siezing weapons. Any way Libya has a major war at hand now, they would be depleting their stock of weapon very fast, and BHT would keep getting its weapons from lake Chad military, till we find an effective means to check them. |

i literally just said the same, i tire. If someone told us a Nigerian officer will reject a suitcase full of money and turn in the suspect, most people on here will tell you that will never happen, yet it did. There are still good men and women out there in the Govt, military etc, we shouldn't lose faith and label them all as corrupt . Odunayaw: 2 Likes |
