Always have and know when more money is useless to you as a person. Stop chasing excess money and building refinery at old age for the sake of profit. You can build for sake of humanity but definitely not more profit at a certain age. Life is short and must be enjoyed. The life circle is funny, we are getting back to where we came from and we have limited time. Use it to benefit your self. At a certain age, go to sleep and enjoy your hustle, don't hustle at old age except you failed to do that during your first half. Every hustle during your second half reduces your lifespan.
Dangote is not at the refinery working hard and carrying pipes. People bite the entrepreneurial bug and never want to stop doing things
.
Fortunately, their capital provides jobs for people and helps the economy. We can't say they are not enjoying life. Working keeps them busy and occupied.
Also, some people want to leave wealth for their generations.

Oh I can see that, but how can one know the true yields for the 10 years bond ? I don't think I can subscribe to a 25 years bond with just 12.98, inflation will definitely eat deep before then.
u can always trade off on the secondary markets for profit even after 2 years

My husband is having 2m fixed deposit, the bank was given him 0.5, since January.

What low risk investment can you suggest, his bank suggested opening a premium account that it will yield something substantial.

Great investors pls advice on what to do

Why did your husband choose to be wasting his money? Normal savings account would give him 3.7%.

Tell him to terminate the fixed deposit, leave the money in his normal savings account, and he should ensure he doesn't withdraw more than 4 times a month from the account.

He may also try mutual funds.

If you bank with gtb or first bank send them a mail. Requesting you would like to participate in the upcoming coming fgn bonds.

I will always advice any low risk tolerance investor at this time to consider VGIF managed by investment one (former GTBank Asset Management). Capital and interest are guaranteed, investors also have opportunity of extra interest above the guaranteed rate depending on fund performance
Currently guaranteed rate is 7.5%. Tenor is determined by investor- easy entry and exit. Opportunity to top up principal at any interval with any amount and option for accrued interest reinvestment (compounding)

For fgn primary market bond, you buy through your bank and for secondary market fgn bond you buy through your stockbroker(preferably stanbicibtc brokers). Am looking at the new issue but still confuse at the % to bid.

Please bond investor dont confuse the name of the bond to the current yields (profits) example a bond can be 12.5 percents 2023 reopening with current yielda of 6 percent ( your eye should be on this ) this is not new bond but been refinanced....

Hello boss, think that's where my problem was in the FG secondary bonds. I think that of pry bonds need capital of 50m. Or is there any bank that can do the 2.5m proposed earlier?

Since your fund is below 50m then you can contact stanbic Ibtc stockbrokers for fgn bond secondary market.

i think investment houses accept less than 50m by grouping smaller investor together ,even tb is 50m for sungle bid but bank group people together....their saving bonds that u can invest a minimum of 10m and max of 50m

My findings on Federal Government Bonds.
I was at GTBANK head office today...
The elucidations below are my fact-findings
1.,The 50Million stipulated by DMO on Federal government bonds is for those who want to bid their own rates.
2.,Can one get secondary market tenor..?
Yes you can,but you will have to go with the Bank rates.
The bank purchases in bulk and sells in bits to retail susribers.
Hence,profit orientation.
3.,What is the minimum amount one can suscribe on?
Minimum of 10k and it varies on units, but some banks will peg their minimum as 10k,50k,100k, 500k,or,1m in variant of the bank.
4.,Can one liquiate federal bonds..?
Yes you can,but its not as liquid as TB....
It's a capital market investment, hence,it has to stay for a particular period of time before it can be termed liquid.
Note; Banks are more rigid when selling Bond than TB....Liquidation make take forever depending on the demands.
She evidently, showed me some treated transactions that came from branches.
I'm open to further questions..nb from a previous quotes

Thank you very much for this information. All effort to buy fgn secondary bond from Gtb proved abortive as my account manager insisted that Gtb does not offer secondary market. So now am settling for primary market since there is a new issue. However, what range of % bid do you think could fly for this new issue considering the situation of the bond market now?

Calculating interest rate on re-opening bonds and secondary market is quite tricky.
I see a lof of people who bought secondary market bonds at 15.5% coupon payments and end up regretting the purchase due to the actual interest could be 9.5% on capital investment.
Currently, someone posted bonds with 16.39% coupon payments here, due to current interest rates, the interest on that bond is currently less than 5% for the tenure.

Thanks so much for your input, I think I will be going for the new issue ,13% is okay if the bidding scale through. 25 yrs is such a long period but should any sudden need of funds arise, I will bank on my business, money market & real estate..hmm,just motivating my self cool

Don't blame any account officer for advising you wrongly on how to invest your money, because many of these banking officers don't even know much about investments, they are just there to do their job and get their salaries by month end.

At Investment one you don't need cash to get cscs account. All you need to do is click the link on my signature to register online, the account will be sent to your email in 48hrs or less. You can actually open account for different products - stockbroking (cscs), Abacus mmf, VGIF, Dollar Vantage fund VDF etc all at the same time, after that you can now bring in your funds you wish to invest in any of the product you are interested in.
N.B: You will need to provide your kyc documents and upload them at the last page of the form.

U can open an account with investment one or afrinvest or any stockbroking firm. You can do investment yourself. Be mindful of the so called juicy investments from some of the investment houses. Understanding fully what you are getting into. Do not let any one sweet talk you to something u do not understand. There are wolves here acting like sheep's educate yourself thereof. the investment houses can help u get d cscs account at no cost. Educate urself so u can be in charge . My 2cents
