Joining the Nigeria is suicide, save your life. Bank job is better than joining the army in naija.

Unselfishly, you left your fathers and your mothers,
You left behind your sisters and your brothers.
Leaving your beloved children and wives,
You put on hold, your dreams-your lives.
On foreign soil, you found yourself planted
To fight for those whose freedom you granted.
Without your sacrifice, their cause would be lost
But you carried onward, no matter the cost.

Many horrors you had endured and seen.
Many faces had haunted your dreams.
You cheered as your enemies littered the ground;
You cried as your brothers fell all around.

When it was over, you all came back home,
Some were left with memories to face all alone;
Some found themselves in the company of friends
As their crosses cast shadows across the land.

Those who survived were forever scarred
Emotionally, physically, permanently marred.
Those who did not now sleep eternally
'Neath the ground they had given their lives to keep free.

With a hand upon my heart, I feel The pride and respect; my reverence is revealed
In the tears that now stream down my upturned face
As our flag waves above you, in her glory and grace.
Freedom was the gift that you unselfishly gave
Pain and death was the price that you ultimately paid.
Every day, I give my utmost admiration
To those who had fought to defend our nation.
God bless the Nigerian Army..

Judging from the pics of the deceased soldiers, it's obvious they weren't kitted properly. Non of them is wearing a bullet proof vest or head gear. It's possible they were caught off guard or the strength of the aggressors was underestimated.
I trust the military sha, those that did this evil have brought death upon themselves, they're gonna be hunted dowm like preys.

the fact that they don’t even have standard kits on fear me... I now believe these kits are only made available for special forces...I won’t even lie I’m scared for my future now... what if my picture is posted here 5 years later as that sikowitz that was on that thread that year with my brain’s bashing out of my skull...

The truth is distribution of kits is not a problem for the army, I know are personnels are issued these things the problem sometimes is refusal of said troops to put them on especially NCOs.

General Sir, but the question is ARE THE BULLET RESISTANT VESTS AND HELMET OF INTERNATIONALLY CERTIFIED BALLISTIC STANDARD MATERIALS (CEN LEVEL B7/NIJ IV, CEN B6/NIJ III) and MILITARY STANDARDS STANAG 4569 Level 2/2A/2B.)

Truth be told Bro, I doubt it Coz report has it that Larger cache of the Army Bullet resistant Vest are being Manufactured and distributed by DICON, and Unfortunately, DICON no get ISO CERTIFICATION

The army won't issue a substandard bullet proof vest to their personnel, infact before it leaves the factory it's usually subjected to varying degrees of test and SON have to give their approval before it can used.
I have been opportuned to visit DICON's factory in Kaduna, the guys there are thorough bred professionals made up of ex-servicemen, servicemen and civilians. I saw different designs all of them are made from Kevlar material, I even saw a design that was made of Kevlar, it kind of had a compartment in the chest and ribs region to place titanium sheet. Even a .50cal can't penetrate titanium sheet, because titanium is very expensive that design is not produced enmass, they settle for Kevlar and other associated materials since they are also effective in stopping fire arms.
There is a video on YouTube where the army were testing their ballistic vests and it performed well.

Thanks for the Enlightenment Sir... During my Undergraduate days, we were Made to believe that Any Engineering Manufacturing Industry that wants to Have International Value must be fully approved by ISO... But Since DICON nah FG parole, so such recommendation might be Easily Waved and Ignored..

My initial postulation about them Was coz NO WHERE on their Official Website Was it Written that THEY HAVE ISO CERTIFICATION and As an Engineering Graduate, I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO UNDERMINE AND QUESTION WHATEVER THEY SEEM TO BE PRODUCING THERE, That's Just the Engineering Ethics in the Academics... Anyways My Oga Sir, I'll go check up the Videos as U av Suggested

But U see that SON ehnn, Abeg Just forget am, Those people are Yeye people I dey tell You, They do av Serious Issues with University Professors A Lot Anytime their Paths Cross.. I sabi A Lot of their Shady acts Well well and I tell U, SON no get any meaningful Reputation when it comes to World Valuation Ranking... Place Wey 3 of my classmates go do their 6 months I.T then wey be sey Nah Paper work occupy 90% of their activities

.
MOST ANTI-BALLISTIC MATERIALS used in bullet-proof jackets or explosion-proof blankets are MADE OF KEVLAR, TWARON or DYNEEMA FIBERS, which stop bullets from penetrating the surface by SPREADING AND ABSORBING THE IMPACT OF THE BULLET'S FORCE. These products were a significant step forward, but often still result in the target suffering from BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA, SEVERE BRUISING or DAMAGE TO VITAL ORGANS. THIS IS BECAUSE THE FORCE FROM THE BULLET REACHES THE WEARER EVEN WHEN THE BULLET ITSELF IS STOPPED.

AND AS FOR KEVLAR::

(1) Despite being such a Tough Material, it gets broken down and Damaged when exposed to sun having High content of UV Rays and We All know that The Northern Nigeria is a Perfect Example in this Scenario.

(2) Kevlar by itself only makes soft body armor. Other materials such as steel, ceramic and Polyethylene are used to create stronger armor plates that reinforce it.

(3) Kevlar fibers quickly absorb moisture. Although Kevlar is strong and tensile, its ability to cope with compression is fairly poor....

(4) KEVLAR IS COSTLY TO PRODUCE AS WELL.....

ABC-Matrix (A Cheap and Highly dependable Material) that is just as tough as Kevlar is the MOST PREFERRED MATERIAL OF CHOICE the World is turning to NOW. The material, which is waterproof and flame retardant, can withstand 3,000 rounds of fire from an AK-47 rifle.

SIR UGO4U, CAN U NOW SEE WHY KEVLAR ISN'T ACRUALLY THE BEST IDEAL MATERIAL FOR BODY ARMOUR FOR OUR TROOPS AND THIS IS WHERE MY QUESTIONING THE SERIOUSBESS OF SON comes in.....
