First day of live tutoring was successful, although we all had some technical challenges. But nonetheless, we'll still earn $6 per shift ($3 per hour) for clocking in at the end of the day.
Let's see what tomorrow would be like.
Hopefully they'll resolve everything

That's dull...I actually like being productive

Lol... Like spending close to an hour solving a maths problem, and after finding the solution, you wanted to post the answer, only for you to find out the question that have been lying unanswered since have been answered by another tutor?

You like being productive, you say?

Spending sleepless nights rushing questions is the being productive you like?

idk, quiz most likely. Cos that's why he'd need to restart.

Why else?

I've had students abuse me before sha grin for wrong answer.

Since then I stopped checking comments.
But the ones I manage to check are all positive.

The fact that I don't have to wake up by 1am for some time is a relief. At a point, I couldn't keep up and I spent about 2 weeks away from CT.
If I like sef, I fit on my system for 4 hours (2 shifts) and earn by answering few questions. At most in a shift, you can't answer more than 3 questions for now since this is a pilot phase and were still hoping for students to come in.

That's good to hear. I really hope it keeps working for you, because that will be nice. However, i hope you don't get to the point where you are unable to answer a very difficult question. Because that's one of the huge risks of live tutoring.
Imagine if it's a question that you can't explain or answer within 20 minutes and you don't have a clear idea of how to answer it especially some of those tough and long probability questions involving standard mean, critical values, binomial probability distribution e.t.c. What then do you do?
So let's hope it really doesn't get to the very tough questions.
Lol

So far so good, the questions are very basic arithmetic and also we work with slack. It's a platform where tutors can talk to each other, solving problems together for each other. We also have moderators with us whenever we're online in case we have any problems.
I raised that question before and the manager said it's normal to experience such but we can seek help from other tutors or once in a while end the session and the student would be assigned to another tutor. However, that should not occur all the time.
Note: this is a pilot phase and everything is just testing testing to see how it would look like.
I think brainly have plans to switch to this live tutoring especially for stem subjects. But that'll be later.
They're just trying this process and see loopholes and know where or what they need to improve.
The idea of tutors communicating with each other 24/7, selecting when you're free to work and for how long, the idea of earning even though you're not working as long as you clocked in and ure online (even tho the money small for the likes of gentroyal and oga topeontop) it's a good idea.
I hope they extend it to other subjects soon

@bolded, are there signs that they want to completely switch to live tutoring?

From the way a moderator spoke.
If this stage get a good review, they'll opt for it.
Brainly and LH team are tirelessly working round the clock to ensure they review all issues too.
Let's see the outcome from this 6 weeks. If it's successful and the students like it, they'll make plans to switch to it.

You all who indicated interest in the content creation gig, let me brief you.

About this gig, it was the first freelance job I did with for a client who assessed me to confirm if truly I can create good content. I was eventually deemed good and ready to be given a project to write on. I created a content of about 18-19k words on "Apple Watch Series 5". I was paid 20k. Although, the normal paying rate is #1 per word. That's the word count he/they are paying if recent.

I was given another topic to create a content on around last dec, I had to turn down the job coz I was having problem with laptop and I had no good phone then. And also, I didn't want to disappoint as it was difficult combining LatinHire job with the content writing job.

Thanks
I will not be able to meet up with it.

1. Why would you pick a question that requires close to an hour to solve smiley
2. Sleepless nights... 2/3 out of 7 days a week is not too bad. Except you wake up every day. In that case...you have a target. So you'll have to pay the price.
3. I've a friend here doing the new online stuff...its boring watching that animation for two hours. Might improve though...who knows.
4. Everyone has different approaches to stuffs so let's agree to disagree.

Were you guys were able to use your phone or it's strictly laptop?

Please, some of us had our contract terminated with latinhire 2 months ago but we were told to apply next month, is anyone else in this shoe?

1. The question is easy to solve but lengthy. And it was left unanswered till afternoon. So, it wasn't during rushing hours.

2. Since you said you like being "productive", won't working everyday be nice? Pay price? But when someone says he was paid for just staring at the laptop for 2 hours, you said it's boring.

3. That your friend likes it. He shouldn't sound like as if he signed up on LatinHire for charity.

4. While I agree everyone has different approaches, there are realities and facts staring at us in the face that we should not feign ignorance for. If you think the live sessions are boring just because they don't get to do more work, kindly enter content tool and answer the unanswered maths questions there. Questions are always available there. You can be more "productive" by doing so
