Yea, My sweet Team November, How are you doing. Hope you are rocking your growing belly?
Now, Our belle must have shown its shape and type.

The pregnancy belly becomes so important that some women might begin worrying if the belly is smaller than that of others. But should you worry about it? And how do you know if your belly is growing at the right rate?

Does The Belly Size In Pregnancy Really Matter?
The size of your pregnancy belly may not be something of concern. Your belly could be big, small, pointy, round, or high, but that still might not necessarily affect the pregnancy. Some people may try to guess the baby’s gender, health, and progress by looking at your belly, but you should not worry about what anyone other than your doctor or midwife says.
Does Your Belly Size Determine The Gender And Size Of The Baby?
The belly size and shape determine neither the size nor the gender of the baby. A large belly could be due to excess body weight or amniotic fluid, while a small belly could be due to less amniotic fluid or if it is the first pregnancy. The size of the belly has nothing to do with the gender of the baby.
Can Belly Size Accurately Indicate Your Stage of Pregnancy?
The size of the belly may not be an indication of the stage of pregnancy. The belly size during different phases of pregnancy differs from one woman to another, based on her body type and size. Regardless of the belly size, ensure that you’re maintaining a healthy weight as being overweight or underweight during pregnancy might affect the growth of the baby (1).
It is best not to compare the size of your bump with that of other pregnant women, as the belly size may depend on several factors.
What Factors Determine Your Belly Size?
The following factors might determine the size and shape of the pregnant belly:
First pregnancy: If it is your first pregnancy, you may tend to have a more compact bump as the abdominal muscles have not been stretched before. The muscles that hold your baby high feel tighter and more toned. Also, the bump is likely to be smaller than it would be in your second or subsequent pregnancies.
Second or subsequent pregnancy: The first pregnancy could stretch your abdominal muscles and make it quite flexible. Unless you are into fitness or you are an athlete, your muscles might not regain their original shape or tone back. So, you may notice a bigger bump than before. Again, that does not mean your baby would be bigger.
Amniotic fluid volume: Throughout the pregnancy, the amniotic fluid index keeps changing. The average index of the amniotic fluid in a normal pregnancy is more during the second trimester, while it is comparatively less during the third trimester. Based on the production of this fluid, but not your baby’s size, your belly may appear small or big (2).
Change in the baby’s positions: From the second trimester, the baby might become active and begin to move inside the tummy. This may alter the shape and size of your belly. For instance, your baby might sometimes move from one side to the other, changing the shape of the tummy slightly (3).
And during the last stage of pregnancy, the head generally moves down into the pelvis, making the tummy look bigger at the bottom. This means that the baby’s position may affect the belly size and shape.
Mother’s height: Taller women have a longer torso, which gives more space for the baby to grow. So, while the baby grows, the belly grows upwards and not outwards. On the other hand, shorter women will have less space, and their baby will push outwards and not upwards.

Bs
My pregnancy was smooth except for the normal MS in the first and last trimester especially vomiting. I worked throughout my pregnancy and some days were better than others.
Started my maternity leave on the 24th of June and I started taking pineapple and disturbing DH for the other business...lol

Contractions started on the night of 27th, but wasn’t so serious, so I endured cos as a first time mom, I’ve read that we shouldn’t rush to the hospital but start the first stage of labour at home so as to progress fast.

On the 28th, no noticeable contraction, and I didn’t even put my mind to it coz I was home with DH and the day progressed really fast.
Another working week began on the 29th and I was just filled with the fear that I was home alone as my husband had gone to work.
I tried to discard the fear and just brazen up.
My mind kept telling me I might go into labour, so I decided to do everything I wanted to do fast immediately my DH left for work.
I had my bath, ate breakfast and dropped my hospital bag at the entrance of the door, just in case...lol

Around 10am, I decided to start timing the contractions as it was getting stronger and more frequent, but I still decided to wait cos the pain was still bearable.
I slept and woke up, but time was just dragging. I kept monitoring it and expecting another sign just to know it’s time to go to the hospital cos as a first time mum, I didn’t know what to expect. So, I kept wiping to check if I had lost mucus plug or anything, yet, nothing.

When it was 3pm, I decided I had to start going to the hospital cos it was about to rain and I didn’t want to be stranded. Better to be at the hospital early than starting labor at home all by myself. That was how I requested for a ride and dragged myself to the hospital

Got to the hospital around 4pm, didn’t even know what to tell the nurses, I managed to tell them it’s like I’m in labor, but not sure. They took my vitals and directed me to a female doctor. When I got in, the first thing I checked was her finger cos I knew I was going to be examined.
Her fingers weren’t so thick and when she checked me, she was like she can’t even locate the cervix, like it’s still closed. I’m like, check again pls, she checked again and reluctantly said I was less than 2cm dilated but I would be admitted. I knew she probably said that to make me feel better. That was when I knew I was in for it.

The pain was bearable before the VE, but after I was checked, the pain increased.

I was admitted and then, time refused to tick. In my mind, it was like a minute was an hour. I tried all the techniques I learned, but none seemed to be working. Tried to sleep, I couldn’t.

Around 6pm, the gynae came to check me with his big fingers and said I was less than 2cm dilated and said he’d check back in 3 hrs. It confirmed my thoughts on what the other doctor said. I can’t explain how I felt, but I knew it would end.

My DH came and I gave him the update and he tried consoling me, though nothing entered my head.

Fast forward to 9pm, he came back to check me. Come and see the way I was fighting this man when he was twisting and turning his finger inside me. Mother’s Dey try abeg.
After the fights and all, he said I was just 2.5cm dilated. IMAGINE!!!

This is getting too long already, let me try and summarize.
He came to check me around 12am and told me I was 5cm dilated. At least, that was progress and I was moved to the labour room. The gynae said he was going to break my water manually so labour can progress faster. After several hours of being in pain after my water was broken, he said I wasn’t dilating more than the 5cm and we’d have to do CS.
Was told my pelvic bone wasn’t giving way for the baby to descend and that when my water was broken, meconium was found in the water, so baby was in distress.

My heart broke. I’m like, after all the pain I’ve endured, why didn’t I just go for CS at first.

My husband had to call his brother that’s a doctor in the U.S to give him the update and what they resolved to do. He spoke to the gynae at length and he was of the opinion that since I’m a FT mum, if given time, I can still deliver myself.

My brother in law was certain that there was no cause for alarm, but the gynae was already getting confrontational as if he was teaching him his job and he kept saying I couldn’t deliver on my own and that the baby was in distress, but the heart rate was normal each time it was checked.

This was around 6am I think. They called the CS team to come in and gave my husband the form to fill.
I was wheeled to the theater some minutes to 8am and my baby was brought out at 8.02am weighing 3.2kg on the 30th of June.
My husband was inside throughout and you needed to see the way my baby girl was screaming out her lungs, she was so active for a baby they claimed to be in distress.

I thank God everything was successful. Mother, daughter (Krystal) and daddy are doing okay.

Sorry for the lengthy script...lol

Sorry for submitting this late. My body has not adjusted to the sleepless nights and stress of taking care of a newborn.
On the 6th of July around 10pm at night I had 3 consecutive contractions which I thought was Braxton Hicks until I changed position and noticed it didn't stop. Was moving around and telling hubby that it's like this baby is ready to come. After few minutes, the contraction stopped and I didn't feel any pain at all. The next day I went for a pelvic scan and the sonographer insisted that I was 34 weeks while I told him my last menses was Oct 2019 so I couldn't be 34 weeks but 38weeks and 4 days according to LMP. We kept arguing and I kept quiet to let peace reign and left the place angrily. I told DH and he said I should not mind the man and just forget about it.
The next day, it rained in the morning and I was thinking of stabbing the Doctor's appointment cause I felt like sleeping but I managed to gather myself and told my sister to accompany me to the hospital which was like 55 minutes drive. When I almost got to the hospital, I was feeling tired which is normal with pregnancy. Immediately I dropped from the taxi, one of the doctor's saw me and asked if i was good I told him just slight stomach ache. He the directed me to the ob/gyn. While waiting to be attended to, my vitals was taken and also urine was checked for protein and diabetes no labour signs whatsoever.
When it was my turn to see the ob/gyn, he asked me normal questions he would ask a heavily pregnant woman and I told him of the contractions I had 2 days ago and that did not stop after changing position then he decided to do a V . E. After that painful examination, he discovered I was already 4cm dilated but no active contractions. He asked my delivery bag be brought to the hospital and I immediately called DH to bring the box who initially thought I was joking and thank God the phone was on speaker, the doctor just shouted his name o, and asked him to bring the bag that was when my DH knew it was serious o. He was almost home when he remembered he forgot his keys at the office and went back again.
Meanwhile I was already in active labour after hot drip was passed. There's no mental preparation for this this thing called labour cause I forgot everything I read about managing labour pains and it was during this labour that my show and water bag was ruptured. I laboured from 3:30pm till 9:30pm when I was fully dilated. I was taken to the delivery room by this time and my LO came out at exactly 9:45 with a tear. The stitch nko? I screamed my lungs out until they gave me something for the pain and a suppository was also administered. The nurses cleaned my baby and me up while my hubby was asking where's my wife, where's my baby? I almost forgot to add that I chased him out if the room when he was saying sorry too much while in active labour and was left with my sister.

In all, I am grateful.

BS submitted.

BS! BS!! BS!!!
After doing the baby dance at the peak of my ovulation first week of November,I started looking for period two weeks later I no see. Three weeks into my search I decided to get the test stripes and behold it was positive. Happy was an understatement because that was our first attempt when we decided that we want to be parents and from my calculations I believed I would have a boy.
Everything went smoothly, MS had the better part of my first trimester, then came the 18weeks.... I woke up one morning to this excruciating pain when I wanted to pee, I couldn't even explain where the pain was coming from, I just knew it held my waist and releases it. By day break I went to the hospital and was given drugs yet no relieve, the bad part of it was the drug they gave me was to stop contractions, the doctor did not understand what it was, it was the third hospital that I met a gynaecologist who after series of scan and test told me I had fibriod and that was the cause of the pain but that it was not threatening and my baby would suppress it with time....
Second and third trimester went smoothly, more like I had a guardian angel inside me, no sickness at all.
Fast forward to 39weeks, I woke up to little period like contractions after dancing my heart out like David danced the previous night. I told DH that this might be it so we started monitoring the progress. Later in the afternoon it stopped, I started dancing again this time twice as I did the previous night by 7pm the main contractions started by 9pm we were at the hospital. I was checked and told I was only 3cm dialated (what!!!, after putting this your big hand, can I get a slimmer doctor please).
To cut long story short, 11/7 went by nd baby was still gathering hair( oh God, my boy is very hairy, and looks like a girl), 12/7 came and I did the exercise of my life, I climbed stairs, danced, walk, ran, jog, squats just name it but labor was progressing at a very slow stage... By 9:45pm I felt something burst and my water rushed out, at this point I knew my prince was ready but I wasn't ready for the pain that follows next, I was literally running mad. DH was confused (at a point in time when he was rubbing my back I told him his hands were too strong and he should use the back of his palms, I suffered the young man) but thank God for my younger sister, she was the giant there, she said sorry a million times lol..
The nurse there told me that if I feel the urge to poo I should call them, thirty minutes later I felt the urge to poo and was taken to the delivery room immediately.
First push, the nurse now said "madam, you are not pushing ooo(are you ok ma, what does it look like I'm doing?). Second push I held the nurse and almost tore her uniform, the third push (oh God!!!) I used all the energy I have been saving since I was born and then my love slipped out crying his heart out, the whole hospital heard his voice because it was very loud. That instant I'm sure I said "Thank you Jesus 1000times".
My baby was cleaned and taken to DH, while the tears I had was been stitched. 1hour later I was taken to the ward and I found DH already fast asleep with his son, I cried......
May we all experience the joy of motherhood in Jesus name, AMEN!!!
BS finally submitted.

My dear, if your doc says induction, pls go for it. Induction means you will be given an injection to facilitate labour. It's always faster than going into labour and waiting till it progresses. Since, it is faster, it is also more painful because it hits you once and the baby comes down faster. I have been induced, that was when I had my first baby. All the best dear

Inducement is not bad, I've been induced twice @41wks and @37wks

Just keep telling yourself that the pain will go once baby comes out.

It'll end in praise

You don't need to be worried. Induction is fine. Look on the bright side of it. You get to see your baby faster. You may even fall into labour before the 41 weeks so relax.

TEAM OCTOBER

How are we doing? I just discovered that I've started walking like a
The pressure on my jajaina is top notch and the kicks are not regular, plentier and stronger. I also feel some kind of jelly-like movements right below my pelvis and sometimes in my jajaina. I panicked when it first happened o. grin Don't know what that is, though.
We hit the 29 weeks mark today. I just know I have like 10 more weeks to go.
Please would it be too early to buy baby formula now and put in my hospital bag? I don't have that strength for exclusive breastfeeding. My other children started formula two to three weeks after birth.

@FloraEC, Congratulations mama, you are the real MVP. For you to hold up that much before leaving for the hospital is a big deal. You knew what you wanted as per labour and delivery, worked towards it, went for it and the Lord backed you up. You are a strong woman, no doubt. Regards to your LO.

Wow @awesomemama, @FloraCE and @treegees, @fertilady and others thanks for the explained.

Feeling relieved now.

Las las I won't be pregnant forever.

Good Afternoon July Teamies and Mama's in the house.

I am 40wks 1day today, I went to the hospital and Dr said if by 41wks I don't fall into labor I will be induced and if induction fails then I proceed to CS.

I have heard so much about the induction and I don't want to be induced. What do you advice.

Really worried.
