For every degree holder that is poor, there are far more illiterates that are poorer.

Education remains the best bet out of poverty. Education opens up more opportunities for you and give you more options.

Of course, that doesn't mean you won't hustle hard when you need to.

This write up looks like it's by someone who failed in school.

Young people don't be deceived. If you're in Uni, do your best. Hardwork WILL be rewarded. Not everyone must learn 'handwork' or be an entrepreneur. I have colleagues who work for international organizations and they earn 3-4m per month. This is just salary o! Allowances are there. And 2 of them were 1st class students.

Don't be deceived, hard work and diligence is rewarded. You worked for your certificate. Let it work for you!

I am depending on my certificate along with skills I learnt on the job and it has opened doors for me. I am earning far more than I can spend every month And I got the job without "long leg".

Again don't be deceived. If you don't want to go to school, find an alternative. If you go to college/uni, be the best you can be.

Same people complaining of no financial support are the same people too proud to use a palasa phone, too proud to farm, work at bakery, do some other low skill jobs just to amass the necessary funds to implement their dreams. Same 9ja that someone sold recharge cards and snacks for tuition is the same 9ja that someone would watch the days go by and say, well nobody wan give me money

Life is tough.
People/students don't realise this.
They go to school thinking that after they obtain the certificate, they'll just use it as some sort of credit card to get anything they need for the rest of their lives.
Unfortunately, when they do finish their course and get the certificate, nobody seems to want to do business with them .. Life does not need the certificate. It is valueless.
A smart graduate will look into his other talents and offer these to life in exchange fo survival.
A foolish graduate will not look for his talents and keep on offering certificate to life, getting no result and getting poorer.
I heard of some graduate collecting N10,000 (10K) for job. In his mind, that is his worth. He can't use any of his other talents.

Going to a University is way overrated in Nigeria. Any slowpoke that went through a University automatically thinks that they deserve to be worshiped and given a job on a platter of gold.
Yeah may be in 1960 when most didn't to go Universities, now you need to be creative and imaginative to be desired and employable.
Everyone, their MAMA and GRAND MA have a university degree now, so it means NOTHING. Not just in Nigeria but all over the world.
In fact in the US, your work experience is more desired than you so called College/University degree.

Someone pls tell all these Nigerian kids who still think that just because they went to some 8th grade high school masquerading as a University means that the government must provide employment for them.....Better wake up from you day dreaming.
