Crazeworld: I disagree. On the contrary, people should be encouraged to reveal figures anonymously. Before coming on this thread, I didn't believe people could make a lot of money legitimately in Nigeria. Today, I know better. I'm also a young man like you. And the figures I see here motivate me a lot. I bought a car last year, and almost half of the money for the car was from treasury bills interest. That was during the time of 14.8% interest. 24 Likes 1 Share |

Crazeworld: Such figures should motivate a young person to start investing early instead of such a young person getting a new job and the first thing he/she does is to go and buy the latest Iphone and be taking pictures and posting on whatsapp status update. 18 Likes |

Please can some explain to me the rationale behind huge burial expense in edo state or southern Nigeria ....my friend is about to bury his mum and expense is currently 3.9m but his sisters are still requesting another 900k to buy 3 cows ....it is a norm or they are trying to extort money from him since he aboard.... |

ahiboilandgas:3.9m for burial? Are they politicians? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by chigo4u: 9:42am On Jul 22, 2020 |
OvaSabi1:This doesn’t make sense. You should be motivated not being honest by coveting people’s wealth. A lot of folks will get motivated from this and become successful while others will get jealous and start burning with hate. Human nature. Control your feelings right 10 Likes |

ahiboilandgas:It depends. The one we are planning may cost us close to 10 - 12m, though it is a pretty large family. Musician alone is around 1.7m. |

In my place, you will be looking at 5million and above to host a remarkable celebration. ahiboilandgas: |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by IamR: 9:59am On Jul 22, 2020 |
ahiboilandgas:General contribution varies from 1 - 1.5m. Individuals may spend twice that amount. My budget alone is 2.5m, I won't spend above this figure no matter what happens. |

No that's how you differentiate people, those that are not well to do hold smaller burials, some people even throw parties a year after the burial to let you know that they have arrived and money isnt the issue. ahiboilandgas: |

ahiboilandgas: Perfectly correct. Wouldn't it be better we rethink this approach. Maybe such monies could be used to reach out to less privileged or support one humanitarian course. When we begin to take pride in lavishly spending for humanity and shame open display of wealth during burials, weddings etc is one way out of the mess... 2 Likes |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by emmanuelewumi(m): 10:29am On Jul 22, 2020 |
IamR: Reason why we will keep on struggling in this part of the world. If they can afford it no big deal, but putting unnecessary expenses on people is what I frown at.. My boss who happened to be the president of s foremost professional body in Nigeria died and over N20 million was budgeted for his funeral. Nobody was disturbed nor taxed, a fund that was generating interest of 10% per annum was set up for that purpose with an insurance company. As a matter of fact your invitation card for the funeral came with the Aso Ebi for free. 1 Like |

emmanuelewumi:Exactly. Few persons that can afford it will contribute the major chunks. The rest can support if they so wish. What he left behind is enough to bury him but we will not use his money for the burial. |
