Please help me school the dude... Every single time that I have interviewed Nigerian women, most of whom are victims of FGM, I feel like crying. Imagine what it feels like for a woman to live out her days without once experiencing the thrill of sex?

It keeps baffling me that we have individuals in Nigeria who still routinely defend things like FGM, either in serious discourses or as it were jocularly. Beyond that, it shocks me that such individuals have the temerity to voice out their inverted thinking publicly...

Culture is never a record of people's past, it is the way people live in the present. We live under a set of present circumstances and we have a much better understanding of things including human relationship and gender understanding. It would be utter foolishness to close our eyes to the knowledge gained in the present just so we remain faithful to past practices that the present dispensation has made stupid...
