All this ups and down about formatting, using this software and kindle this and that. Two major things are certain here
1 . Ms word doc remains the best format to upload books for kindle but the problem is knowing the basic rules of ebook formatting eg some people will write 5000k words and would format the book up to 100 and more page. This is very wrong and aesthetically create unnecessary white space distortion, etc and KDP will see it as error and will automatically fix it. Meaning your formating will change
2. Formatting for kindle is slightly different from formatting for other ebook platforms like Draft 2 Digital etc
You need not bother yourself about the term epub files, is somewhat complicated than just an ebook file
The key is knowing how to use the various tools in ms words to format an ebook file.
But in case you’re still confused, I can do that for you for a fee. No matter your content: pictures, tables, illustrations, etc

What should I do?



I posted a public domain book and Amazon gave me a notification that I should provide a prove if it is a public domain book or not and if I don't provide proof in the next five days they will block the book. If I delete it entirely will there be any penalty for that, because I want to delete it I don't want wahala.

Pls help give me advice what should I do, if I go ahead and delete the book will they penalize me

Perhaps you can try looking for an actual proof, or trying informing them how you got it but you don't have proof so you'll prefer to delete it

Where did you get it? If it's project Gutenberg just screenshot the page there. Or add annotated version to the subtitles

Publish a new book, make sure not to copy and paste, your account could be in danger. If you can't pay for writers, write by yourself if not look at NCB/LCB but be warned, almost all the niche there are saturated.

You did not do it well, there is no cause for alarm since it's not a copyright claim.

Amazon have already add all public domain book to their own catalogue for free, so when you want to publish a public domain book you will add annotated version or illustrated version to the subtitle.

yeah they have. But that's not my business. I have a Better alternative.although all are paid.

all this Nigerians trying every illegal means to outsmart this automated e-book platforms should pls stop. Publishing a book is is a more serious business than some of us think. That is why it is called intellectual property.
Some of us are making our daily bread from kdp royalty payment and I will not be happy to hear that Nigerians have been banned from publishing in kdp I get seriously angry when someone come in a public forum asking how he or she can by pass a system and some persons will just give out the info as if it's the right thing to do.
almost every one can use a pen name, it's legal, I also started using pen name as far back as 2017 when I leant that some white people don't believe that anything good can come from us.
but I also have about four or so books in my real name. and an author central account. With that kdp recognize me as a seller in that platform who is also allowed to sell other author's books through my kdp account on their behalf. At such I can publish with as many pen name as I want. you must not be be in US to help a friend in US sale his books so what's the need trying to change your location? That is why I laugh on hearing someone say kdp block my account. I've had more serious issue on kdp when it was createspace but my account kept running because every info on that platform is verifiable . I encourage everyone to always respond to kdp personal mail within 5days even if the issue has been resolved. just let them know that you have received their mail and that the issue has been resolved.
The bad name we have online as Nigerians is enough for us to have a rethink so let us tread with caution.
