A Nigerian man who graduated with a third class from the University of Ibadan has taken to social media to share his story after he graduated from the University of Plymouth with a first class.

Oluwadara said he didn’t give his best while schooling in UI and, as a result, he had to come back for an extra semester after his mates had graduated.

Great.

I actually know 2 people with similar experiences. One graduated with a 2:2 , while the other had a 3rd class . Both of them did masters abroad and had distinctions.

Congratulations

Congrats but UK education is worthless. You basically do everything yourself and you are not bombarded with courses like it is in Nigeria. Ask an elect elect in UK what is strength of materials, he doesn't know jack while his Naija counterpart even knows welding technology. If not our leaders are looting us in cohort with Britain, we for don enter developed nation teh teh

UK education is worthless and Nigeria education is worthy right? Please ask yourself what are the rankings of a UK and Nigerian institution globally.

It's the joy of most lecturers in Nigerian university when students fail. I wonder why it is like that.

The fools don't knw that when students fail, it's a failure on their part.

I remember one time in the uni. The university Senate has to return the result bcoz of mass failure. The lecturer had to give everyone 10 more marks bfor sending the result to Senate for approval.

I have heard lecturers brags about how students fail massively in their course.

What a a country!!!!!!! Everything is wrong abt Nigeria.

Sharap, pple don't learn jack in Nigeria university. Or do you call all those cramming, learning?

I spent 5 yrs in a uni of tech in Nigeria studying computer science and I learnt almost nothing.

Wasted 5 yrs of my life. It was after the wasted 5 yrs that I stated learning all over again. Thank God for my life but most pple don't have the kind of opportunity I have.

you were waiting to be taught coding but you forgot that coding was just a tool to implement what you learnt. Bring a student from uk, you would dust him in maths and the principles of designing algorithms.

forget about ranking. I have passed through both system. UK is all about facilities investment and you pay heavily to use them. You even have to teach yourself most of the time. In Nigeria, they would bombard you with knowledge but due to lack of facilIties, you wouldn't know how to apply them but that is changing now.

if you don't know the principle behind any application how can you maneuver when faced with challenging problems, how do you troubleshoot? Like I said, Nigeria's system is changing with the increased investment in teaching facilities.
