What silly move are they trying to make by going to court? Do they think we are stupid?
Look, there is only one way they can save their battered face and that's by coming out clean on their dirty dealings and returning looted funds followed by tendering of unreserved apology to the people for their mischievous deeds.simple

He share the list,he is out of business, he doesn't, they sue .

They can't file criminals charge on him because he was not speaking in his personal capacity unless they want to join NDDC in the suit then the following unintended consequences will follow.

1. The records to proof the NDDC position which they are sued for will be subpoenaed and will become a matter of public record and in this, the ministers Carter stays intact.

2. The house & by extension the Senate will have to open up investigation into other bodies so a bias & witch-hunting claim isn't slammed on them. Then the tornado starts.

3. From (2)The house will be spread thin fighting wars on different fronts for which they can't afford at this time.

There never is a good time to of all places shooed YOUR glass house to throw stones.

Them go off Mic.

Submission- Its just a threat for our consumption to fake that they are working and have integrity.
The Senate must have warned the two parties and agreed on actions & agreed outcomes.

There are no sides at the top.

Akpabio writes National Assembly, denies saying lawmakers got NDDC contracts by oshozondii: 12:56pm
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has replied to the National Assembly denying he said that the lawmakers got 60 per cent of the contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission.

The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, who announced the receipt of Akpabio’s response, said the minister claimed to have referred to old contracts awarded by the NDDC which had not been paid for and some of which are part of the constituency projects of the lawmakers.

Gbajabiamila said Akpabio’s response would be referred to the Committee on Ethics and Privileges to look at the merits of the minister’s arguments.

The minister’s response came after Gbajabiamila said the lawmakers would sue Akpabio for failing to prove that NDDC awarded contracts to them.

at this stage.. we have lost confidence in these crop of political office holders. the NDDC and other commissions was created so dat the impact of govt is felt in d grassroot but They still deviced a way to loot the funds. what we need now as a people are very smart and talented nigerian youth to deliver the country from these bunch of thieves. a group of anonymous hacker(our version of wiki leaks) need to follow these people every step abi them no dey use phone and computers. and plant bugs exposing their deeds for the whole world. let the international organizations see them for who they are and ban them and their families from travelling, schooling, going on vacation and what have u. these have to stop.

As brilliant as the Hon. Speaker may have sounded. I doubt, if the Clerk of the House has the power to engage the services of a private legal practitioner to initiate a criminal complaint of perjury against the Minister without the fiat of the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice first sought and obtained.

This has brought again to the fore, the long years of call for bifurcation (splitting) of the Office of Attorney General from that of the Minister of Justice.

The same National Assembly in all the past amendments of the Constitution have shut their eyes over the from this call.

Now the chicken has come home to roost.

This in my humble opinion may be another jamboree or as the guys in entertainment will call it, another series in a season film.

Let's enjoy it!

Akpabio's Reply to House of Representatives:

"A list of 19 owed contracts which the Chairman of the House Committee on NDDC insisted must be paid before the 2020 budget of the commission is passed.

"The NDDC has not executed any contract under the 2020 budget since it has not been passed, while the 2019 budget was passed in April and has not been implemented"

Ojougboh alleges corruption in House Committee of NDDC

The Executive Director of Projects, Interim Management Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, weekend alleged that the activities of the National Assembly must be critically examined for Nigeria to move forward.

Ojougboh stated this at the palace of the Asagba of Asaba in Delta State, alleging that there was criminality in the House Committee on NDDC.

Addressing the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Chike Edozien, he said, “I am here today to inform you that the Inspector-General of Police is coming to Asaba to inaugurate the Police Equipment Fund and brief you on what is going on in IMC.

“The reports of the National Assembly never indicted IMC. Before now, the National Assembly was the one running the place. When we came, we said no, because over 20 years, there was nothing to show in the Niger Delta region."

“They want to take the NDDC back to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, where all these evils were perpetrated before and we said no when we came on board".

“We have a lot of criminality in the House Committee on NDDC; Senator (Peter) Nwaoboshi’s house is the warehouse of the NDDC and the National Assembly wants to be the court, the judge and the prosecutor in the NDDC matter.

“If the country must improve, we must look at the National Assembly activities. I am 60 years old now so if I don’t speak the truth now, when will I speak it? Your majesty, be assured that I have not stolen and I will not steal.”

Ojougboh said the money paid into his account was for the trip of NDDC students abroad before the COVID-19 pandemic.

In his remarks, Edozien lamented that the NDDC had hitherto excluded Asaba in its operations.

“I am very happy to welcome you today. We did not make any mistake to confer on you the Akinuwa of Anioma. Today, you had the opportunity to explain to us what is happening in the NDDC,” he said.
