Money that will still be looted by our agbada wearing corrupt politicians. This will surely make nigeria's greedy landlords to increase their rents instead of adding only the firs 6%.

It is far easier to address the fundamental human issues as a people from a single lineage with one voice than addressing these same issues as a forced union of different individuals with diverse interests, different voices and different political inclinations. One voice maybe clamouring for something but the other voices may not be in support, as such there may not be any significant development nor would any voice be heard.

Dissolution of the country is a means to an end. After we can do that, we then know that we solely are in charge of holding our various leaders to account without infractions from other tribes who may not see things from your view point. Every tribe would learn to manage his people and society in the way he/she deems fit for their cultural background.

It is easier for a nuclear family to manage its affairs but when it becomes a polygamous extended family which is not united by blood, conflicts must be abound.

Very very good points, and I agree. I wish we could just dissolve already

Now you are speaking!
When Omoyele Sowore called for #RevolutionNow and was ready to put his own life at risk, you people form the East said "It is a Yoloba problem".
When he was arreste by the junta of Buhari, you guys were jubilating as usual and wish he rot in the DSS Cell.

Now, IgboAmaka don dey see red for Buhari hand, you suddenly remembered the bolded in your statement? shocked shocked undecided

That is why they say, if you keep quiet whnen they come for your neighbour, the day they will come for you, no one will shout.
If we dont unite against this Govt and keep pointing fingers at others, due to tribalism, the Govt will move closer and closer until they feed on everyone
You cant be autonomous, until you Unite, History shoudl have taught some of you this simple lesson, a long time ago.
. grin

The irony of this mention is that the two quotes you used here have been used by me in the past when trying to sensitize people about studying their history.

igboamakaaa:

This doesn't deserve my reply, but i will reply anyways just to set records straight.

The full meaning of IPOB = Independent People Of Biafara.
Who are the Biafrans? They are the people of the lower Niger region in the southern part of the contraption now called Nigeria. These people consist majorly of Igbo tribe descent and affiliate igbo speaking tribes alongside other non-igbo speaking tribes that have similar cultural practices with the Igbos.

There is no way you can mention Ipob without Igbo being a part of it. Are Biafrans hausa or Yorubas or Fulanis?

Do you know what you were called before your colonialists gave you the name Nigeria? Or are you among the bandwagon of people that think Africans had no history nor stories of conquests, wars and archaeological masterpieces before the Europeans came to decimate the continent.

My Brother, Your ancestors did not just appear out of nothing. If you are an inquisitive entity, you should be trying to research on what they were doing, how they were living, and all the history that they had made before the europeans came, destroyed your heritage and looted all your cultural and artistic heritage to their lands.

This is the same thing the Romans (italians) did at Israel. Destroyed, enslaved and looted all their laws, library of knowledge, inovations and culture and remodelled it to be the european culture, before then...the europeans were nobody, they have no culture. They were mostly a bandwagon of uncultured barbarians living in the wild and acted in the most uncivilized manner. (i used the word 'mostly' here because some parts of europe especially rome had early civilization but not earlier than african or middle eastern civilization). But at least the Jews were inquisitive, sought to know the truth and found the truth. But we here in Africa have not only been conquered physically and environmentally. The europeans have conquered us mentally and made us believe we are useless and were nothing before they gave us an identity.

Most agonizingly, over the centuries...we have failed to rise up from this sober state of mental conquest but instead defend our conquerors and the slavemasters that have been put in charge of maintaining their stronghold on Africans. Nigerians, Africans...READ YOUR HISTORY!!!

Rise up and free yourself from this mental slavery, make aggressive research and you will know the truth about your geneaology.

Ehn.. Bros, you forgot to add that these same groups are the ones that have been maligned by the SW and North now the North is done with them and they are after you but there is no one to support you. If they come for me in the morning, they will come for you in the night!!

First, they came for the communist, idid not speak out--
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Bros i'm doing pretty well for myself, i'm not dependent on govt money nor did i think buhari's govt will favour me in anyway. Though i'm not as rich as the elites that own multiple plots in banana island, I've been able to help a lot of people here on Nairaland with cash transfers during the time of lockdown. I can just sit down, live my private life and not speak out, but ive always chosen to speak against ills in the society.

Now to your post; Did you see me antagonize sowore when he wanted to organise the protest? In-fact, it was YOUR OWN PEOPLE that mostly snitched on him. Ive always been an ardent critic of the Buhari maladministration, i had warned of the impending doom to come but people didnt listen. Check through my posts and see me campaigning for youths to read their history, so as not to make mistakes of old.

You're obviously quoting the wrong guy in all ramifications.

If i would follow your thought pattern, i should be the one blaming the southwesterners for vilifying MNK, celebrating his incarceration and the murder of his followers when he kick-started the campaign for Nigeria's dissolution. But that is a very childish way of handling the issues at hand. There is no need crying over spilt milk, now isn't a time for trading blames, all regions of this contraption have faulted one way or the other and have contributed to this mess.

Now is the time to right wrongs and move to do the right thing and secure the future of our generations to come. The dissolution of the contraption is the path that leads to the solution for our age-long problem. It is a collective responsibility for us all to champion this cause to its success.

Dont take my post "personal", l just used your own post "as a Reference" to generalise such thinking and l am sure you know exactly what l am saying in my post.
I did not say ANYTHING about your Personal circumstances, financially or otherwise, whether you paid everyone on Nairaland or not (and l could not have done so since l dont know you "personally" and cant even verify all those your 'online claims' undecided ).

We are here on Nairaland when people, most;y from the S/East said all sorts of things about Omoyele Sowore, just because he is a Yoruba Man.
His idea that Nigeria needs a #RevolutionNow, that was trashed back then, is the same idea that everyone is now requesting for, so the question that arise is: WHY WAS HE BEING TRASHED BACK THEM and why were the People of the South East saying locking him up indefinitely, was a positive thing, that he deserved it and all sorts of nonsense? How has that tribalistic approach helped we Nigerians?

Dont try to rewrite History, the internet never forgets!, the records are stll littered al over Nairaland and other Social Media and if you push it too far, l can easily pull up a few of such posts for you, just here on Nairaland.

And l bet you to show me the post where the SW people snitched on him, as you wrongly claim.
You guys will be doing what is Evil, you know it is Evil but afterwards, you dont want to be associated with that Evil that you did!
Why not just refuse to do Evil, so that you wont be associated with Evil?

When we x-ray the problem of this country, properly and honestly, it will dawn on all of us that it is not a "Geographical Problem" but a "Human Problem" and people like me dont understand why the Igbos ALWAYS reduce the problem of Nigeria to "Let Biafra Go".

I am not against Biafra going but l can say with confidence that it does not solve the problem we see among Igbos in Alaigbo nor anywhere in Nigeria, Problems which will also raise their ugly head in that Biafra.

I agree that Nigeria is not properly governed and it is even worse, under the current Jihadist in Aso Rock but 96% of Nigeria's problems are caused by Nigerians, these Problems are in every Local Govt Area of Nigeria and among every Nigeria, from the North to the East to the West and South South.
Just look at the sheer evil going on in NDDC right now? Can we blame restructuring or "Let Biafra go" for that? Can we blame Northerners for that? Can we blame Buhari for that?
If we say let the South South be a separate country today, is it not the Akpabios, the Daniel Pondei, Cairo Ojugo, the Joi Nunnehs of this world that will be Rulling the place? Will the looting and under-development had stopped?
What about the South East, is it not the same Rogues representing you at the National Assembly, as Governors, as LGA Chairmen, etc, the same Rogues in the Public Service, that would be governing the place?

Ditto for all other regiosn of the country and that is why l said, "Geaographical Expression called Nigeria" is not our major problem, if it is at all but it is THE PEOPLE, (Nigerians) that are creating the problems for us.
Granted, the terrorists "foreign" Fulani Herdsmen, especially under this Buhari, has become a very unsustainable Parasite and a danger to life in Southern Nigeria. But that is just one of the many problems.
Having the right people in Power, is the first step and this cannot be achieved without a Revolution, reason being that the leeches are from every tribe and every location in Nigeria. grin undecided
If we can get rid of the leeches in power, it wil be a starting point to a sustainable Regionalism that will solve our problem and yields required results.
But just asking for Balkanisation of Nigeria at every opportunit and problem, makes it look like an unreasoned fixation borne out of lack of understanding of the real issues at stake.
The earlier that we all realise that using tribalism and the barometer for our thinking and decision making will not help us, the better and faster we can all sit down together and chase away dem Babylonians making life diffuclt for everyone, including those who think they live in Banana Island.

May God help us.

Stamp Duties payment is enabled by the Stamp Duties Act (SDA) 1939, as amended by numerous Acts and various resolutions contained in the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
They are going back to enforce Laws of 1939, they should remember the riot of 1929.

Yeah right! Nigerians will never fight back. That’s why your leaders treat y’all like animals. What’s happening in Nigeria would never happen in any other country on the planet without the masses rising up to drive the leaders out of power. I have said this several times before, and I will keep saying it, Nigerians are the most docile people on the planet.

Compared to Nigeria, Egypt was a paradise but the masses rose up and drove Mubarak out of power. Same with Libya.

Re: Tenants To Pay 6% Stamp Duty - FIRS Tells Landlords & Property Agents by Samunosuke(m): 3:06pm On Jul 25, 2020
I hope that they continue finding new ways of taxing us. Why?

Firstly, so that those who always retort that those leaving to better countries pay a lot in tax will realize why people would decide to do that. At the end of the day, they see the benefit of the taxes in infrastructure, healthcare systems, security, insurance and all the tenets of a functioning society. When we start paying comparable taxes and still do not have the basics like good roads and stable electricity, I hope those people start using the little intelligence they have to realize the folly of their words.

Secondly, the average Nigerian is corrupt and narcissistic. We only think about enriching ourselves and are willing to go to any length to protect what we cherish. When corrupt politicians steal the nation's wealth we don't react not because we can't but because we feel it does not affect us personally in any way. The nation is a vague, transient and nebulous concept in our mind which seems far away. Such direct taxes that are visible and clear to see will erode our laid back attitudes and make us pay more attention to the policies politicians propose and eventually hold them accountable to their promises.

I recently read about the French revolution (la guillotine baby) and the resonant effect it had on other nations (itself being an effect of the American revolution). Baby steps but we will get there eventually.
