Hello Brownie, I think IRCC has modified its operations slightly based on its latest pronouncement on the two stage approval process for study permit. Submitted my application on the 20th of June with upfront medicals. All these while till 5pm yesterday (23/07/2020), eligibility check hadn't commenced but background check was in progress. At about 9.00 pm yesterday, i noticed my medical has been updated to passed and eligibility check commenced. They did not send any mail notification. Note: Biometrics still outstanding. ***It will be nice to hear from others as well*** Brownie1003: |

How I wish I have a better word to use than "thank you", I would have used it. Still Thank you so much Osemigho. You are one of the very few Nairalanders in Canada that return here and dash people guidance and advices. Having you here is a blessing. I followed your story when you were once a GA at Unilag before proceeding to graduate studies. I am very glad that you are doing very well. At the bolded, I would like to officially apply to be one of mentees. Trust me, I won't bother you too much, I only need few information and I will paddle the canoe myself. But if you insist you want to be like those Canadian professors that usually say "I don't have room and fund to accommodate more students... " It is highly understandable. Nevertheless, with the dept of information you have shared, it will go a very long way... This feedback means a lot to me. Whereas, some things keep baffling me a lot about this Canada which of course I won't like to ask openly and it's people like you that can give me the answers. Osemigho: 3 Likes 1 Share |

nayo10: When did you apply? I applied May 23rd... still waiting o I suspect that it depends on the visa Officer handling each case and how fast they receive responses from the bodies confirming our documentation, eg banks, work places and scholarship bodies. So much tension in the air... |

librangyps: I don't think those who applied after May 15th have received medical requests. I could be wrong but I am yet to see any. If there's anyone here, do well to indicate. Secondly, how sure are you that they mail those bodies you've just mentioned? That would unnecessarily delay the process. I think they'll only mail them if there are noticeable inconsistencies in your application or if they're not sure of the authenticity of your documents. I doubt if it's the norm. However, I could be wrong. |

Hello nairalanders,I’m in need of your advice and God bless you as you do. I got admission to a college in Ontario and paid first term tuition fee in full. My sister who lives and work is my sponsor, she’s a citizen and work in Uk as a nurse(she’s the one who paid my tuition as well. The question is she’s my sponsor and I want to use her statement of account As sponsors statements of account but she doesn’t have money in her account at the moment that will stand as a substantial end balance but she have a steady means of income. The question is Can I go ahead in using her statement of account since her income is steady and can finance the cost of living and studying in Canada But at the moment she doesn’t have a substantial end balance. Can her steady income suffice for the end balance, using the adverse effect of covid-19 on her finances as a reason for not having liquid cash in her account. Thank you all as I will really appreciate all advice |
