DISCLAIMER: This is not to paint Redmi Xiaomi Bad

I recently purchased a redmi note 9s store this month at a store in ikorodu due to the fact that I wanted to try a new UI. And i must say this, the phone is worth the price. The battery, fast charging, gaming experience is wonderful and also the RAM management unlike my previous Tecno. And also the MIUI is cool too

But the issue is, it developed fault just this week. The earpiece stopped working. When on calls I can't hear what people say until I put it on loudspeaker.

I've been worried since since then, what I can I do because I don't think Xiaomi comes with a warranty

And also if the earpiece is repaired hope the back glass won't be damged in the process, because that makes the phone dope

MODIFIED: The problem has now being fixed, it was a minor software bug

While making a call, try pressing the area where the ear speaker is. Do it with mild pressure and avoid the screen area.

If the sound comes up shakingly, then I think the top area is not tightly screwed from within. It's a fault from the factory, and it has happened to a device I was using.

An engineer will have to loosen the phone from the back to fix it or change the ear speaker entirely. Better still, you can return the device to the store where you bought it.

As for me, the phone I'm using currently is my third from Xiaomi, and I've never had to repair any of three devices.

what led to the issue, did the device recently fall to the ground? was it recently used in a humid environment? did you update the device of recent? try factory resetting your device first... Xiaomi isn't and was never perfect, but we Xiaomites are here to help and assist you all the way.

Sorry about that but I have a question to ask xiaomi experts that will be checking out this thread. I was also considering buying this particular variant of note 9 series but after checking reviews online including YouTube. I discovered that different issues like screen bleeding plagues this device. I saw another with wifi disconnecting (could be software issue). Now with this issue by another user. Is it just better to avoid this particular model since it's like prone to many issues or it's just badly built and optimized by xiaomi? Before fanboys jump on this thread to call me hater or anything, I got the redmi 8A for my mum weeks ago and the performance is impressive and I've been considering switching device myself. grin

As for the Op, try using something light to brush your phone mouthpiece and you can also try hard reboot. Hold the power button for about 10 seconds and it will reboot by itself. It is something that can be easily corrected.

As for the poster above, they were some defective units with screen bleeding issues. it has long been corrected with an update. The WiFi connectivity was for free select devices, and it has long been corrected by an update.

I don't know if the purpose of your post is to troll, but you could have easily asked this on the Xiaomi thread for quick reply rather than create a thread. For the trolls coming with misinformation, at least come with something really credible.

Don't take it to a technician, I guess it's a software issue

Dial *#*#64663#*#* > "play music by receiver"

Do this to confirm if it's an hardware issue before taking it to a technician

Force restart your device by holding the power button for 15seconds. And update your phone the issue have been resolved.

It is a software bug not a hardware problem.

Next time use the Xiaomi Thread, if I wasn't mentioned, I won't come here because I only respond on threads I follow.

Check the top of your screen if there's the headphone symbol. Better still upload a screenshot of your screen.

It is a software bug, I resolved it for someone this morning with just a phone call and I noticed it plagued phones with EU/EEA ROM more.

@OP it isn’t faulty; there’s a software bug that causes this issues in most android 9 and 10 devices and Xiaomi is yet to release a patch that fixes this issues. Happens to Nokia 5.1 plus too Buh its been patched .
Temporary solution: get a Bluetooth earphone pending when xiaomi recognizes and patches this issue!
