I'm not happy and if I had typed this review 5 mins earlier I would have typed so many things in anger. I will be as fair as possible, I purchased a redmi note 9 pro from him. It came this next day, poor customer service but prompt delivery. I paid before delivery but I got the package without stress. I purchased the phone yesterday. While using the phone today and charging it at the same time, I observed the charging was unstable like the cable was faulty or maybe the charging port, I was unsure. It's a new phone so I didn't expect to get such experience so soon.
I immediately contacted him to inform him of what happened, it's painful to say that he accused me, that I should have observed it same day. And since I didn't the fault was mine. I didn't make use of the phone so much yesterday as I had a very busy day. He then proceeded to say somebody must have tempered with my phone, and I let him know nobody has access to my phone. We went back and forth on the matter. For a seller he handled the whole issue rather poorly. Spending 110k yesterday and experiencing faulty charging already is not a good dife whether it's the charger or charging port. I dont have the energy to play judge and hury but it would be unfair to not drop this here, as I got to know him here
was the nylon broken?

If the phone is brand new sealed and it was unboxed by you, there is literally nothing he can do. What do you mean by faulty charging? The phone doesn't charge at all? Macbeyland is a reasonable person and am sure it won't even cost him anything to give you a new charger if that's the case, presentation matters. I hope the matter is resolved amicably.

I wish I had the time to type my whatsapp response instead of doing a voice note.
It's really sad to see that you think coming to the public about a device that I didn't manufacture is the best way to get a resolution..

Now to the matter.

You came to me and told me you charged the device but discovered that it was not charging properly.

I told you it could be 1 of 3 possible scenarios

1----- The charger

2------ The USB cable

3------- The charging port

Solution I gave you

I said,
change the charger and try another,
Change the cable and try another

If issue still persists, then it's the charging port. Then I said if it's the charging port, then it would likely be that it got damaged when the cable was plugged in ( maybe somebody hit the cable or forced it in)

You didn't want to hear this. All you wanted was for me to accept that the problem was there even before you unboxed the phone.

You were the one who unboxed the phone o. Not me. You noticed a problem but you waited till now before you came to tell me about it. I wouldn't imagine myself buying a new device, then noticing that it has charging issue, then I will keep it late before I report the issue. When I threw this point to you, you told me that you didn't report it on time because you were observing the issue. However, coming here, you are saying that you didn't have time to even use the device because you've been busy. Are those 2 statements not contradictory?

I gave you 3 possible scenarios for the issue but you chose to dwell on one simply you want me to accept that it's a manufacturer issue (something we don't even know what the real issue is yet)

If your definition of customer service is to expect a vendor to accept that an item has a manufacturing problem more than 36 hours after using the device, without exploring all options to know exactly what the issue is, then I don't think anybody will qualify as a good customer in your definition.

I will repeat what I told you on whatsapp here.

Kindly get another USB cable and try charging to see if problem persists. Let's get to know where exactly the problem is coming from.

No it wasn't. I didn't reach out to him to accuse him but to let him know about the phone I just got the previous day. And to know how we can both resolve the issue but the way he handled the whole ish was distasteful

No problem if after spending such amount I get a faulty ish and nothing can be done, then fine. Let others learn. It shakes while charging if not kept in a particular position

Then most likely issue here is the cable. Please get another cable so you can isolate the problem, that would certainly help to know the next line of action.

What does it cost you to look for another usb cable and try it.

Trust me, the time it takes to type these messages would have been enough to look for another USB cable to test it and either verify or eliminate the possibility of a USB cable being responsible

This was your initial response, before the subsequent explanations but your first reaction was to accuse me. I don't want to continue the back and forth here.

Note I got the phone yesterday not 2 days ago, I however paid 2 days ago.

So you didn't consider this as the first response I gave. I'm wondering why you chose to upload the middle part of our conversation and tag it as the first response I gave.

BTW. There's absolutely nothing wrong in all the statements I made.

I could convert our voice notes to mp4 and upload on YouTube so everybody can listen to them and make their judgment.

Even when you called me uneducated in your voice note, I never threw any insult at you. Not everybody would be that gentlemanly.

I think this issue isn't even an issue at all. just buy a type C cable. or go to ppl selling phone accessories and try it out. if the problem is cable, then u can ask Macbayland to send u a new cable.
few years ago, I bought a phone from Jumia. my mtn SIM refused to work on SIM 1 slot. I even planned sending the phone back to them until I tried the sim2 and it worked. few months later, I got another mtn SIM and it worked. it was almost after one year I realised that SIM 1 was set on LTE alone and that SIM card wasn't 4G....

my take is, try out several options b4 coming here to call someone out.
I just got powerbank from same guy and I didn't notice all these Ur customer service complaint. just that he doesn't talk much

Factory defects happen na. It's not a new thing.
Get a different usb c cable and try it na. Not adapter.
A DIFFERENT USB C Cable

Factory defects happen jare. The customer no wan try the options given to her. She just dey hammer on "the new phone" matter.
I've bought a phone with headphone port issues clipping audio and didn't notice till after several months. After observing the issue, noticed that the port was too tight. Became loose after using it for awhile.

Macbeyland seems to be a man of few words lol but other than that, he's cool. grin

Kiarra, this ↑ is another possible scenario. Also, since you said "until you bend d cable to a particular position", then, the issue is, most likely, with the cable if not what Genius43 noted.

Get yourself any Type-C cable and try. If it is the culprit, you may inform Macbeyland and he may send you replacement cable(s) or compensate you in another way. Person wey de dash people cable anyhow can't find that difficult to give you as compensation. And remember, factory defects happen too; you can't put that on vendor.
