Good morning All Please I'm in a state of confusion right now. I recently got an admission with a university in Australia (to resume 20th July) ACU precisely. I have Paid my school fees, got my CoE, and I have also applied for my visa, did my Biometric and medical. Actually waiting for my grant. But due to the pandemic, everything is on pause mode. Few weeks ago, the outcome of a scholarship that I applied for came out successful. And I was awarded a 50%scholarship. (I was so happy.) Yesterday I got a mail from the school requesting the I can commence my studies online pending when the travel restriction will be lifted or I can defer the admission to Feb 2021. Now my challenges. 1. If I defer the admission, will the scholarship be withdrawn? 2. If I chose to start my course online and my visa is denied what happens. 3. Can the school give me a new CoE reflecting the scholarship? Please guys I need ur advice and humble suggestions since you guys are already settled and know how things are done there. Regards. 1 Like |

hustla: Yeah and my response still stands. Not all FSA jobs pay up to that amount. (That's where you need God). Besides recent information has shown that international students are being exploited |

helpyom: TAFEs can be quite expensive. I think you should look for others training like Apex Institute, ALACC and the rest. Please don;t spend more than $1,500 for the certificate. 1 Like |

Betapikin01: I think you should ask that in the other school thread they can give you the answers you need. 1. I don't think so (if it is not term specific) 2. Entry into the country will be next year, why not start online ? Since your program is an on campus program and not an online one, I don't think you would be denied visa on that ground 3. Of course they can. Send these inquiries to your school, they are in the best position to answer them specifically the international student body in your school Those are my views on this. Anyone care to add anything else |

QUESTION 1. How many of you still have your job/ enough shifts during this pandemic ? 2. How good is your super and tax knowledge ? 3. Did you nominate your super fund yourself when you got your job or did your company choose one for you ? 4. Do you check your supper account to ensure that your employer pays your super ? As good as getting a job is, not having good knowledge about the above will hurt you in the long term 1 Like 2 Shares |

AussieJoan:1.More than enough shift 2. Best to use an accountant for your tax returns go with the highest claim 3. Yes I nominate. Using Sunsuper. If you have multiple fund I will advise you to use just 1 because of the fees you pay on multiple funds 4. Yes I do check it I get notifications as soon the account is been credited |

Hello all...thanks for all the tips. Any special advice for those who have their visas but did not make in into Australia before border closed. What are those things you would recommend one can use the intervening period to plan for since it is very much unclear when the border will open? 3 Likes |
