WAEC exam was supposed to start in April and schools were shut down in March. Any serious-minded student would have used the opportunity of this long pandemic break to prepare very well for the exams. This should even be a blessing in disguise given the long time for preparation.

You type as if you aren't aware there were uncertainties as regards whether the exam will hold or not.

Exam was never cancelled, it was only postponed indefinitely. They surely had no idea when they will write but it was certain they would still write it.

I think the time frame is too minimal for a school to put all necessary precaution in place for the exam, much worse for the students to get their brains on high alert for the exam.

As an examiner, I hope the marking system will be a bit considerate in view of the present situation.

When the news broke out that the South-west Governors are interested in their students writing the WAEC exams despite the Minister of Education's stand, the government does not have a choice but to dance to their tune.

It doesn't work like that.. they are humans. I can assure 2 months into the break they where reading... but with no hope in site.. the school in you will leave u, and there's nothing you can do about it... My prayers is they announce tertiary institutions at least a month before resumption..

Besides the brain will be weaker, since it has not been engaged in a long time... it's not like they were attending lessons.. Anybody who finished waec and waited a year to write jamb can relate..
