BREAKING: AIR STRIKE KILL DANGOTE, NOTORIOUS BANDITS’ LEADER TERRORIZING KATSINA, ZAMFARA. ‘Dangote’, one of the suspected leaders of the bandits terrorising the Katsina, Zamfara and other North West states, has been killed in an air raid in Zamfara, the Defence Headquarters has confirmed. The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, disclosed in a statement on Saturday that the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji overran a bandits’ camp, headed by “Dangote” in the Doumborou Forest of Zamfara. Enenche said the air interdiction missions, which was conducted on Thursday, also resulted in the killing of several armed bandits. He said the operation was based on intelligence that revealed the relocation of the bandits in the new camp, around a rocky high ground within the forest. The coordinator added that the bandits moved along with logistics, including motorcycles and hundreds of rustled livestock to the location. He said the air component dispatched an enhanced force package of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), fighter jets and helicopter gunships to attack the location. “The attack aircraft engaged the target area, scoring accurate hits and taking out some of the bandits. “Many others, who were seen trying to flee the location in disarray, were mopped-up in follow-on attacks. “The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, commended the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji, for their professionalism. “He urged them to remain resolute in the conduct of airstrikes, whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations, in order to eradicate all armed bandits. “This is geared towards accomplishing directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central zones of the country,” Enenche said in the statement. 1 Like |

Xbee007:The military doesn't release the bodies of their dead, they bury them in military cemeteries. And should in case the family gets their way through back door channels, they will pay for all the expenses to get the body buried in their place of choice. I don't know if that is related to this scenario but just stating this. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Shey you people say the country is broke and some group of unpatriotic demented looters cornered over $2.5bn worth of crude. I swear to God untill Bokoharam or even the army strike Abuja these set of gluttonous bourgeois will never do anything to checkmate the harsh realities of frontline troops. It's clear there is absent of political leadership in Nigeria, even if it's trade by barter we did with the Chinese we will get nothing less than a thousand A grade MRAPs and associated military equipments together with technical assistance and even a deal for technology transfer. But some bastards prefer to stash loots for their 3rd generation. Wicked souls!!!!! 13 Likes 2 Shares

Janjaweedi: It's too early to tell. To summarise this report, it is better to put it this way; "SU30MKI is an extraordinarily bad aircraft for use in any modern conflict". Eventually, in the next few years the aircraft's equivalent would be massively deployed by low income 3rd World nations. It's long range, large weapon load and dogfighting abilities being very attractive. Those characteristics don't mean shit in a world of AESA radars, AI and smart 'everthing'. |

Janjaweedi: So because China said the BAIC BJ80 is better than the Mercedes- Benz. G-Wagon AMG 63. You will therefore believe them because the look similar, from shameless copy engineering. This is an aircraft that has one other customer apart from Nigeria and that's Myanmar. That in itself should tell you something. 7 Likes |

Toju200: Egypt have procured a vast amount of top level aircraft from France, USA, etc. As a consequence have exacting standards borne from experience and high placed expectations. When a country like Egypt shows interest it's a two edged sword. Particularly when none of them buy it. Interest not pursued can can be indictment not commendation. 2 Likes |

komekn: Well, I watched a video comparison of the JF-17 and the F-16 jets,,, and the only thing I was not happy about is the JF -17 Block 1 was slightly underpowered. I saw this and other commenters said same, the F-16 jet engine had little more thrust, hence F16 was slightly more agile. Even at that, the difference in performance was slight. That was a Block 1 JF-17 that was used, but ours is a Block 2 JF-17 which may carry a much more powerful engine, to bring at par with F-16. So, the JF-17 Block 2 is a very good jet. |

Here is the video of JF17 vs F-16 comparison. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v65tOS-gBu4 Note that was a Block 1 JF-17 which compared well with the F16. Ours is Block 2 which might just be at par with the F-16 falcon. So its a good jet for the money. 1 Like |
