Check out Szobolozlai on U tube or look up his stats. He is good.
We should give it a try.
After all your rants I don't expect you to be looking at these type of players. It seems like our mentality rubbed off on you too. grin grin grin

Great teams look at the downside and improve on it, mediocrity is trying to justify bad with some good.
I honestly don't have big issue with Emery and Arterta, I just want those who out of emotions see everything negative on the former and all positives on the latter.

Arterta should be put on the spot also like those before him.
As far as I am concerned, Arteta hasn't done bad considering the resources at his disposal. No DM, no AM, just one winger plus a little boy, injuries here and there with a lean squad. When Ljungberg took over as interim it became clear to me how bad our squad is. For Arteta to steer thus ship is remarkable.

His real test is next season. If he wins the FA cup on his very first managerial stint, for me its a huge achievement.

Nope.
He is a good player. It's not all about buying overhyped players.
It's about buying smart. And if it doesn't work out, you move them on quickly.
I'm a realist. Considering our stringent budget, Szobolozlai will make a good addition to our team.

Okay, lets hear from you, which Attacking midfielder do you think we should buy?

I get your point, I know you're huge fan of his, You wanted him to succeed Wenger.

I just do not like the hype you heaping on him, The situation at like he's done some wonders, I feel he's done okay. And we need to see what happens with time.

OK I get your point.

To your question, I am not a scout but I should go based on whatbI know in realistic terms, I would first seek out a reconciliation with Ozil. If he needs to beg let him beg, if we need to beg him let's beg him. The reason is because like it or not he was our most creative player despite playing very few games. It's easy to shop for a new wife, but it's the old wife that knows all the craw craw and how to pluck them.

If it doesn't work, I'll go for one of Grealish and Zaha. The later is getting old though but very effective. Most importantly, PL experience.

Ozil had just 1 assist in 12 games he played for us. He is no longer the player he once was 4 yrs ago. He is washed up. We need to move on, Ozil has nothing to offer us anymore. Wenger benched him by making up ridiculous injury news excuses for him, Emery did same, Ljunberg did, and now Arteta is doing same. The four of them can't be wrong while Ozil remains right. Add Joachim Loew of Germany too, and that's 5 managers reaching same conclusion on Ozil, which is that he is no longer good enough for top level football.

Grealish looks good enough for a team struggling for relegation with no pressure. Can he step up in a bigger team looking for more? His age isn't all that good too, and he would cost significantly alot. Why not go for cheaper and more direct Madison? But I agree with you though.
Grealish is better than all we currently have. If we can get him, that will nice.

Zaha? How many goals and assists did he have this season? As atrocious as Pepe is, he still had a better season than Zaha. Please we can do better than Zaha

Szobolozlai is not a nobody. He is the midfield engine room of RB Salzburg. Everyone was raving about Haaland, but Szobolozlai is the man behind the iron mask.
He will greatly improve our midfield creativity. Liverpool got Minamino, Dortmund got Haaland, Leipzig got Hwang. European teams are shopping in Salzburg.
Roca of Espanyol is good too.

Everything is not all about signing big names. You can still find good quality if search well. Liverpool bought Wjinaldum from Newcastle, and Robertson from God knows where. We splashed big (even though is on installments) on Pepe, look how average Pepe is.

No telling how Ziyech will fare. Harvetz too. Xhaka was one of the bests in Bundesliga before we bought him.

Problem with Arsenal is that we don't move on quickly from bad players. Look how quick Chelsea moved Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zapacosta, etc on. If it were Arsenal, they would all still be here. That's the problem we have.
ok. like I said,I don't know a lot about him. But if he is daredevil midfielder, the one that can bring in more grit to our midfield, I won't mind.

All I said about Guen and Emery was spot on, and I even suspect Emery could have colluded with his agent. Managers do this. It only got a bit personal when someone here insulted my person + talking about not making what Guen makes. Something Guen would go on to say to a fellow footballer.

Peeps have criticized Xhaka here, criticised Ozil and I don’t think all those that did earn as much as the duo, you will never see me engage peeps with personal attacks despite my different opinion. Yet I’m the emotional and hateful person.

All you said about the duo is your opinion and no problem about that, some didn't agree and some may. Its not a big deal at all.

It only got worrisome when you made 85% of Arsenal's problem and your post on them, that was when some of defended fiercely.

The fan who resorted to verbal abuse is wrong on all levels, even Guen is wrong to throw that jab on Maupay.

You could have reported the fellow or face him instead of transferring it to rest of us.

Its all fine. We good. smiley

Ozil's recent performances have been due to issues off the pitch which either sides have not handled well. He is psychologically down. If we work on him he can save us the cost of getting a player of his calibre. Grealish, Zaha etc will cost us over £70m plus salary, rather than losing him for cheap or paying him to sit on the bench and make up flimsy excuses why he isn't playing, I think as a 'not rich' club we could seek a cheaper option. Ozil created 38 chances this season more than any other Arsenal player. This is something he achieved in the few games he played before the lockdown. As a comparison against Aston Villa no chance at all was created. That being said is enough.

But if we have money, we can call his bluff and go get ourself Thiago Alcantara.

Just Negodu the idiots we are killing ourselves for!

Pricing a player like say na crayfish... I think I said it earlier that we don’t have the capacity to land Partey or Coutinho considering the realities of our finances. I mean the negotiation is not bad but A. Madrid have been clear and it is not like the player is disgruntled or willing to force a move.

Everyone has to be realistic, only our scouts can rescue us at this point, they need to earn their paycheck now, more than ever. I mean, we just declared a huge loss last month, we are not playing in Europe, no fans in the stadium, merchandise sale will also drop because of the latter, TV money will decline, invariably, revenue including projected revenue will dip significantly. Not forgetting the high wages of some of our current players.

Please argue in the face of our reality, not Chelsea’s, Liverpool, United, City or even Newcastle at this point if Ashley sells his club.

is the club scared to offload all those deadwoods or am I missing something here ?

why can't we try to sell those deadwoods with market value first of all

Shebi you need buyer to shed deadwoods abi? Well, you called them deadwood right? If you were a business owner or fan of another club and have been watching the dead woods play for us will you look to add them to your roster? Especially when you consider they are overpriced deadwoods with ridiculous wages. Baba, it’s no magic no one is interested in any of our players, they are dead woods with little or no value.

Let me also clarify that while I want Ozil to move on from Arsenal, mostly because he can’t seem to get along with Arteta and the system, if we are unable to offload him then Arteta has to figure out a way to get him involved with the first team.

I don’t care what you think about him, past his prime or not, the truth is at this time, we do not have any player with his abilities on the offensive end. More importantly, we can not continue to give Baba free money to sit on the bench. I believe he still has something to offer this team.

If you add 12 points to our tally, we would have been on 3rd.

why can't we get the little from them, it can go a long way in bringing in some important names and also free our wage bill

the likes of torriera, lacazette, guenduozi and AMN can easily fetch us £100m, why can't we look for buyers for these guys first before making moves for our Target, Martinez is another player we should sell if possible

Arterta will probably probably reward him with contract extension.

If you know the number of errors Xhaka and Mustafi alone has cost us over the past few years, you'll think its the manager that caused it

This is the point I was making when some of us here were asking why we can't sign Christiano Messi.

This also supports your view in your previous post that we should argue based on our current realities not done fantasy.

I have seen Kodded saying we can make €100m from selling some of the few bright spots in our dark squad forgetting how lean the squad is and that there will be another need arising to replace those players.

As it stands now, just as you have also pointed out, our options are hinged on our scouts and the youth team managers. We must look within just as Chelsea did during their transfer ban, especially to make up our squad players; while our scouts should up their game and fetch us some wonder kid from Albania or San Marino. The likes of Smith Rowe (who has similar movements like KDB interestingly) should be reintegrated.

As for those deadwoods, it's either we beg them to leave, send them on permanent loan, or just patiently wait till their contracts are over. Because, I don't see any right thinking club that will part with cash under this Coro era to sign those players even if they are a League 1 club.
