Danielnino00: Lol Rodgers is a good coach for midtable teams ,he is not bad but calling him a genius is totally wrong and even comparing him to jose,Rodgers did well with Liverpool sha despite bottling the league ,I think Liverpool deserved better that season Nuno of wolves might do better with big teams than Rodgers ,just saying ,I might be wrong thou Just take a look at who Rodgers is battling top 4 with ,lampard and ole ,he should have more experience than those guys ,they will say Chelsea and man united are better than Leicester ,but it’s just a little difference if you compare the players Some said Leicester overachieved by comming 5th but they forgot how Chelsea and united had been inconsistent almost all season 1 Like 1 Share |

komekn: Oga sancho is yet to play in the epl before joining the bundesliga So you go follow call gnabri flop ? Reiss Nelson is not a regular at arsenal compared to when he was at hoffenheim See dude when you want make this comparison at least this players should have game time in the epl then you will confirm that they flopped before you talk ,you are just speaking of guys who didn’t have game time You are a very bad analyst |

benji93: I am talking perception and the cultural dynamics of management. Management being subjective in its assessment in comparison to player assessment / measurement which is far less forgiving. Again there are several variables, does the Chairman and or board like the Manager and is more inclined to over look failings and shortcomings. That's my view and experience. |

Joebie: Meanwhile they will say one is biased. Now compare the obsessive fixation and over hype associated with Nwakali, who has done absolutely nothing for 5 years beyond U17 football. Then l will be accused of favoritism towards Nigerian origin players in the UK. It's hypocritical double-standard as well as unguarded prejudiced and negative bias towards Nigerian players not considered to be "homegrown" in the context of Nigerian football. 1 Like 1 Share |

Joebie: Where is Etebo. If somebody asked that Sammy Ameobi should be considered, l am sure there will be outcry but there are players playing in the very dark backwaters of football Latvia, Albania that people will talk about without any opposition and or ridicule. In reality statistics are indicative and not conclusive. Nonetheless, we converge our knowledge of a player with what we have seen on the field of play to make a more holistic and objective appraisal of ability. What the statistics do show, however is CONSISTENCY. |

andrewbaba44: They did not game time in the EPL because they were not good enough. But went to the Bundesliga and excelled immediately. |

Joebie: Wow !!! This shows the Nigerian DNA we like skill, showboating, Technical football, etc. At times we forget about end product and emphasis on skills and dribbling. It's got to be focused with an end product. But the players above l feel have got that understanding and as such have a good number of assists and key passes. Something that players coming out of the Nigerian football system do not always appreciate. 1 Like |

komekn: At least they where stars at mancity so you don’t expect sancho to break in Solanke that’s playing in the epl is he good enough is he even better than sancho ? Gnabry will start for almost all epl teams now ,you saw how he disgrace spurs I rest my case |

benji93: Essentially irrespective of all excuses at the end of the day the BUCK STOPS WITH THE MANAGER. If they win all the glory is taken by the Manager it's vice versa with failure too. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 10:18am On Jul 29, 2020 |
andrewbaba44: I always time limit my deductions with the term AT THAT TIME. Solanke has zero relevance to the discussion. With regards to Gnabri l agree. My deductions are very simple it's very difficult for young players to get opportunity to develop in the EPL. You have to be absolutely outstanding to get those opportunities. It is much easier to get that opportunity to develop and improve in the Bundesliga comparative to the EPL. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by komekn(m): 10:25am On Jul 29, 2020 |
Joebie: These are amazing statistics. Why because they prove what we have seen on the ground. Tega l have described as the complete midfielder, an ability to tackle and attack which is very rare as well as control the game with his vision and passing range. He also has stupendous stamina but also the physicality to deal with anything. He can be a DM then he becomes a CM then he turns into AM all in the same game. In his current form there are few players comparable in the context of Nigeria. If he gets to the EPL and he maintains this level of consistent perfomance. Then he will be in the top level. Nigeria should cap him NOW no need to wait. |
