73-year-old woman has given birth to twins through in vitro fertilisation (IVF) at a private clinic in India. The woman delivered the twin daughters after doctors performed a caesarean operation. The mother and the twins are healthy and safe as per the information from the doctors at the clinic. The woman, Y. Mangayamma, is a native of Draksharamam, East Godavari district decided to fulfill her desire of bearing children through IVF. She was married to Yarramatti Rajarama Rao in 1962 and she had been longing to be a mother since then. She approached Sanakkayala Umashankar, who owns a IVF clinic at Kothapet. Given her age, she was admitted to the hospital through out her pregnency days. Dr. Umashankar said that the entire process was done under the supervision of cardiologist P.V. Manohar. According to happy husband said, nothing impossible with God, the power of overcoming everything is to pray, and God will make it happen, just wait for God time because God time is the right time. I heard that IVF in some countries is only allowed to be performed until a certain age and I think it is sensible to have an age limit. |

I once had a guy chyking me then. I didn't really give him attention cos he looked very old like late 40s early 50s thereabouts. Well I did tell him in clear terms my reasons only to tell me he is 35 but appears so cos his parents gave birth to him at their old age. Is this true, bikonu? I personally receive this news with mixed feelings considering both parents are aged. Chai, God keep them cos of this kids. Amen |
