mrslander: First, the issue of your breast milk production needs to be addressed. Is your breast sore because you are unable to produce much milk? If that is the case, you can get Milk booster lactation cookies, you can check on Instagram. Those cookies work wonders. You can start with 2 cookies per day while also taking pap and your breast milk will be in excess so much so that your baby may not be able to consume the quantity you'll be producing. If it is the Nan, someone told me that Nan often makes babies poop to either be strong or difficult to pass out. Also, babies do not necessarily poop everyday as their body takes as much as it needs. If you wish to help the poop, my MIL uses a little mentholatum on cotton bud to tickle the bum so the stool comes out. 1 Like |

mrslander: Wow Ubiero, haven't heard that trick before. Oh how I love this support group of mommas, there's something new to learn each time u visit. Just to add, how do you know she's constipated? The groans and struggles and cries of discomfort associated with pooping at this age are very normal. It doesn't signify constipation. It's just them trying to figure out how to poop. Sometimes the dont succed in getting it out but they eventually do. If the poop is strong/hard/formed, then u can diagnose constipation. But if it's still soft and kinda watery then she's not constipated. There's no definite number of poop per child. Your baby's poop rhythm is unique to her. There's only an average that's wide to encompass every child. So while some poop 7 or more times a day, others poop 0-1time a day. Most important thing is she getting enough food intake. How her system uses up the meal at different stages of her growth is entirely unique to her. If the poop isn't hard (that is, still soft and watery-like) then she's fine. Kindly refer to my earlier post on a certain trick with Warm water that helps the girl-child poop easily. However, if she's truly constipated, I also heard pumping warm soapy water into the anus helps bring the hard poop out almost immediately (there's a special child pump for this purpose). Lastly, sorry about your sore boob. Don't give it too much of a break. Constantly pump it to maintain your flow and reduce pain. If hubby doesn't mind, he can also help you with this(he doesnt have to swallow of course #smiles). Also Using formula, follow the directions of the product. Don't add or subtract. Nothing like LIGHT or HEAVY formula preparation. Your just messing with the child's tummy. Follow instructions and maintain it strictly. As long as its for the child's age, it'll be OK. 3 Likes |

mrslander: Is the poop hard? If no pls let her be its normal at that age to grunt for days before they poop . Just make sure you follow the guidelines for the formula feeding and lots of warm water. Some babies poop often some poop once in days. Take notice of her poop pattern, nature and color. On your own side make sure you don't joke with fruits and veggies. She'll get them from your breastmilk and will help her digestive system to avoid constipation. She is too young for any experiments. See your doc if you are worried. On the other side pls I want to know what makes you think your breast is soured and your docs response to it. If you don't mind. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hello ma, pap should not be the only meal to be given to babies. Also try introducing semi solid meals to babies. Try as much as possible to introduce several meals so that babies can easily get used to them at their earlier stages. quote author=Lizzieo post=92239859] Can pap be given to a baby of 8months and will be satisfy?[/quote] |

Good morning Mummies, please am new here. I am a first time Mum. My baby is three months old and has stuffy nose which he suffers most at night. I have gone to the hospital and I was given crystal menthol but that thing is too harsh. He has had it for over a month. I bought saline drops it offered some relief but they are expired and I don't want to get another one I just want it to go. After a friend's advice. I have been doing steam for my baby since Saturday, morning and night. Just yesterday I was told to give him vit c please is there something else I can do to relieve him of this it's becoming a nuisance. Cough started 3 days ago but wasn't obvious but during this night he has coughed 3 times. And please the nights that are hot how do you cool the room with baby in it? I usually on the AC for sometime switch it off, wait for the temperature to come down a bit before we go into the room. Please how do you cool your room with a baby in it? |
