Land mass is one economic mass is another... But Niger State is enough to stand as a country with a huge land mass Lagos state has the least land mass but is enough to sponsor the whole Nigeria budget as small as it is the billions or trillions coming out from there will develop the whole land mass of all Nigeria if there is no corruption. 396 Likes 28 Shares

Lamasta: Unfortunately land mass is not one of determinants in actualization of a country. The bolded is a misconception of elementary level. Lagos will collapse if Nigeria disintegrates. 137 Likes 7 Shares |

majamajic:The entire NIGERIAN Nation which you claim is BIG is SMALL my Brother. CALIFORNIA State in the United states is Half the size of the entire Nigerian Federation. TEXAS is 2/3rd the size of the entire Nigeria. ALASKA is bigger than Nigeria+Benin+Togo+Ghana all put together. These are just 3 STATES ooooo Yet our Population in Nigeria is chasing that of the United States with the speed of Light. That's the only DEVELOPMENT we are good at No doubt the entire SOUTHEAST is small but it's 2 times bigger than Jamaica. . QUESTION of the DAY: Now if it's really small, why does the Nigerian Government find it difficult ceding such a small portion to self actualisation with territorial integrity, if they could easily cede a small Bakassi..? 355 Likes 27 Shares |

My brother, you said it all. The quality of Lagos alone can withstand West Africa. Do you know that the GDP of Lagos is the highest in West Africa. It is not land mass anymore but mind mass, brain mass, knowledge mass and human capital mass. Lamasta: 60 Likes 4 Shares |

muykem: Those southeast states you mentioned contributes more to the national treasury than most of those orobo states. In saner climes you are rated by how viable you are economically than how much landmass you have. May be you should have mentioned Lagos since its the smallest, state like Rivers is not even up to any northern states if am not mistaken when you talk of landmass but economically contributes in multiples more than the whole Northampton Nigeria put together . Your basses for states to be merged because of landmass is not cogent. 145 Likes 8 Shares |

idahme: ...your response would get good support if it were true that the five states, or the region in itself, is a respectable economic performer. You must find some other index with which to brand SE, land and economy ranking work against you. Lagos state is a tiny state but economic giant. The whole SW region is the top income earner for Nigeria and also the top culturally diverse society, and in land size the region is the biggest in the South. So Ibos need to define new brandings, economic or geographic does not work well in your favour. 59 Likes 6 Shares |

Ok rank us according to our contribution to national prosperity and security, land mass with out adequate security is a scam... And bandits and bokoharamist are really making bad use of north land mass.. But again I ask why are fulani herdsmen going to everywhere to graze their cattle when they have the landmass, is it not greediness at its peak.. Or do they want to corner the rest of the landmass of this country.. We the southern part of this country should be united in other to resist this greedy folks 16 Likes |

Lagos The smallest but also the most populated. This is the reason why there is traffic congestion all year round. FGN is not forward thinking at all, they should spread development to every state of the nation. Why neglect the seaports and airports of other regions? It just doesn't make sense. 17 Likes |

I already know where this thread will end up but before people start churning rubbish, let me remind you that Lagos state is the smallest state in Nigeria yet contain the highest population and the biggest GDP in Nigeria. Yet Lagos still have so much undeveloped lands remaining. Fun fact: the whole human population can fit into the state of Texas in America. So land size means nothing especially in the world of today where human ingenuity is powering economies; case in point Singapore, israel, Taiwan etc. 32 Likes 3 Shares |
