Sorry to bother you all.

So I just got on the Ntel Wawu train. Sadly it appears that my phone doesn't support the Ntel bands.

And that's the confusing part. I use the Xiaomi Mi Max 1. The listed bands are 1,3,7, 38.

Ntel claims to support band 8 and 3.

So I thought I was covered.

I've tried the *#*#4636#*#* trick and still no show. The Sim is stuck on emergency calls only and no service.

Ocassionally it flashes a full bar network and disappears in seconds.

Btw, the wawu sim apparently works flawlessly on Redmi note 4x. I tested it.

And I recently updated to miui 9.5.2 stable global rom. 4 days ago to be precise.

Any suggestions on what else to try please. I'm at my wits end here.

I tried to locate a reference of Grandmufti to jboixxx solution on this, couldn't find it. Please share me the link or solution to this problem. Thank you

Yea, I was going to add that, but the band 3 is not her in every town/city...it's the major Glo 4G band where I am sha.

And another thing is getting the mi 10 youth...this coro has made things a little difficult

Both of them use GLO Band 28... They are practically the same phone, only difference between them is charging speed and camera

If that is the case the guy should still be worried. Because future investigations (if stolen) will still lead to him, even if he bought it legit from the guy who stole it/bought from another guy who stole it.

That's why personally I don't like buying second-hand phone from people I don't know personally. I will rather buy what I can afford new or from someone I know very well.

Based on our previous talk of network bars and how they connote to how good our reception is, and how it takes toll on our battries, I did check it out and it was true.
In the pics, I had a full bar but checking the network strength, I saw it was terrible. I must say that the war our phone is fighting for us behind the scene just to give us good call and data quality can never be overemphasised.
I did write a little article on it but it got deleted and I got banned cos of links to the source I used but I'll repost it without the links here.

N/B:
I just discovered my battery health is 94%, am surprised because I just bought this phone.
It lends credence to one of the things I wrote that the frequent use of fast charging may not be so nice to our phone battery.

I used the app to check my own battery. 69% was what I got. I was saddened because this RN7 is exactly one year today.

Update your phone. After downloading and it asks you to reboot, click it and allow it to do the installation and come back on, make sure your battery is above 60% or plugged in.

It is an easy sturv.

Although ignoring the phone won't affect the functionality of the phone but it's more advisable to update and you keep learning how it works as the device gets optimized
