In terms of everything, Dell laptops are a lot better than HP's and you'll also not get any reasonable brand new laptop for 100k.

I'm an Asus User but currently Trying an Acer Predator and so far it's a Bomb. I've used Dell and Hp too and I'll advice you to go for Dell if you want a rugged PC but if it's for simple Task go for HP it's battery life is better and the components are easy to get e.t.c But if you want quality durability and Something worth your money go for Dell or Asus but you need to up your dough

Dell is very durable.I have a Dell laptop that I have been using for over 5 years now, very sturdy and strong. Within those 5 years, I have also used 2hp laptops and both have packed up now.

NOTE: All the laptops were bought brand new.

Have you tried Lenovo? Great specs at affordable cost (I mean the US used). Though, it lacks those flashy designs. You can asked people here to about it.

I wouldn't mind either of the two

Hp is great. They make fine laptops with great attention to gloss and aesthetics(eye candy). Their system components are readily available anywhere in Nigeria. Most repair technicians feel more convenient working on Hp systems (first hand experience).

On the other hand, Dell is a fantastic brand. They make sturdy laptops with a more professional looking cosmetic finish(not so eye candy) . Repair technicians are more like cats caught in headlights when diagnosing Dell laptops, especially the rare models (recently lost my 7559 motherboard and being asked to import the board because they are difficult to get locally).

But for personal bias, I still prefer Dell. Mind you, I sold my Hp laptop after 5yrs while I lost my 2yr old Dell motherboard.

I've used both and I will choose Hp
