Cyriel Dessers is reconsidering his options after it is dawn on him that getting an eagles shirt as a striker is not going to be no work in the park.

Dude said he is open to playing for Belgium and will wait till September before making his final international decision, according to Het Belang van Limburg

To me, in this particular issue, if the news is true, who cares?

Gutted, very very good player. Former Belgium, Devil Luc Nilis assured him he's better than Batshuayi or Benteke. Belgium will invite him September.

Osimhen will meanwhile have fight for a place in the Napoli starting XI alongside the club’s all-time top scorer Dries Mertens.

You sabi the way... grin It is how it is. But In the end, it is my wish for all to fulfill their potentials or at least come close enough to doing so. And I would always recognise the efforts of any of our lads who are doing their best to bounce back. I hate recalling their faults or struggles. I focus on what they are doing now to get better and on if they are starting to show signs of progress.

Look, If Isaac Success shows the slightest chance of bouncing back today, I will be all over that and take it up without blinking an eyelid. Why is that? Well, it is partly b'cos he is a product of our youth system and he showed fine potentials when coming up. He was decent in La liga too. I don't give up easily on our talents and I keep watch over countless of them in a part of my spare time. It's well. wink

Mertens has played as a centre forward for lots of games for Napoli. He can play the role perfectly well but I think Gatusso will utilise him on his natural wide role.

I really hope he gets back to playing again and just maybe he can still make something of his undoubted talents. It's well.

You already said it nah ,his natural wide role ,and yes I know he can play as a striker because he did so yesterday

Osimhen is a real number 9 and he will bench milik and I even heard milik will be leaving self

Mertens will play from the flanks and so do the captain Lorenzo insigne

I believe that's part of the plan. To utilise Mertens in a wide role, preferably on the right with Insigne on the left naturally and Osimhen through the middle.
They still have Callejon, Lozano and Politano as options in wide areas.

Mertens could still play centrally when Osimhen is rested as he can play across that entire attack line comfortably. But Osimhen's main backup is Petagna who Napoli bought from SPAL in January (loaned him back to SPAL to finish the season with them).

I see Gattuso unleashing Osimhen and Mertens together alongside Insigne (if all are available) against Juventus in the SuperCoppa Italiana matchup (Italian Super Cup) that will be played before the 2020/21 season in Italy kicks off.

High point of the game was towards the end where Laporte and Rodri had chances on goal from long ranges in free kick manners. I hope it was a tactical idea to break the deep parked bus of Arsenal and I hope Guardiola works on it and makes it an art.

In parked bus situations, curling long shots from the edge of the box like free kicks is the way to go. It fits into the time-space theory too. With the box fully crowded, crossing into those areas is futile.

Pass the ball into the box and return it out to the edge of the box for curling shots.

I hope we continue seeing this tactical switch in our next game we face a team parking the bus deeply.

Congratulations to Arsenal and their fans over the World. That was a fantastic win.

HOW TO BEAT THE PARKED BUS.
After our loss to Arsenal, I pointed the above and was glad to see De Bruyne score a goal similar to what I pointed out. I feel in the coming years, we are going to see a dramatic change in long range goals that will be similar to the accurate curling crosses of the past.

I believe it is the best way to beat the parked bus system.

Watch Manchester City’s second goal by De Bruyne against Norwich time stamp - 0:40.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Gv2HR7S10

Also watch Yaya Toure pull a wonder in the gif below. We were a goal down to Sunderland and they had decided to defend on a compact manner when Yaya Toure pulled the wonder with the curling shot.

Both are like crosses or free kick curlers. I hope to see more of these next season from Manchester City. An expected tactical switch in plays.

But I enjoyed the read. As always you enlighten and drop nuggets of your wide tactical and indepth football knowledge which I never shy away from appreciating. You are indeed a treasure to the thread and my personal favorite analyst in here.

But this brings me to asking. Do you think we can bring this into the current Eagles set-up? When we are faced with a team on the continent that sits deep at all times when we trying to break them down, who do you think can serve in those curling shots situations from the edge of the box? That's when our wingers/wing forwards would have worked the ball to the side edges of the box and cut it back away from the crowded areas in the box hard to penetrate with a dribble or a pass.

Ndidi normally would go for power instead of curling his effort. He has to learn that. Also the likes of Aribo and Ejaria could serve in those situations. Or even a defender who can hit it. What do you think?

Note that I mention these guys and other positiona apart from the forwards b'cos it is assumed the forwards like Osimhen, Iheanacho and co would be in the box keeping the defence occupied and thinking we trying to feed the ball to them.

In all I am loving this tactical thinking especially when I think of the possibility of applying it to the Super Eagles and I say again... You, TheGoodJoe are Awesome.

Yara Yara say it after me.... wink

Initially i did tell you your back 3 are going to be error prone to Arsenal's attacking trio. No bias there, they proved that right.

Arsenal wanted to repeat that man city sit back thing but as una no get that kine Kdb or Silva player, Chelsea were bereft of attacking ideas after the couldn't see the kind of chance that led to the 1st goal.

A pity Thanos came for Captain America. He was a threat.

Pedro best dub but caged also.

No creativity in Chelsea's middle. Kova got sent off and as i saw Barkley, naso i grin

As for officiating, some calls were bias. But all cards were deserved. Arsenal are used to bad officiating that they aren't even used to such lil favors. Chelsea got a taste. They should understand henceforth how Arsenal feels on such occasions. grin

The 14 gave us the 14th.

A pity Giroud got no chance to preach the gospel like kaka

Choose Jesus
And Eternal life

Was under his jersey.

Im very surprised any Chelsea fan will think their defenders and gk would give stunning performances.

Next time sha.

That is why I am beginning to favour a two striker system. One dare devil predator of the box and wide areas (Osimhen) and one free roaming forwards that will occupy the attack midfield area during attack while making dashing runs to space. In a compact situation, he should drop deep and make curling shots.

Nacho operated this way in the U17 against Mexico in the first leg. That particular game is a thorough textbook study of how Nacho should operate if Rohr favours a two striker system.

While Osimhen gets the defenders busy with rampaging runs, Nacho needs to pick pockets of spaces in the attack midfield area.

Nacho is one who has this ability and showed it in the two games below. The one against Mexico in our first game in the U17 and in the game against Southampton while in Manchester City.

Ndidi power driving shots came to my mind. That is something Rodgers has not tried to harness.

When it concerns those driving shots, if the ball is cut back to the curling shooters, I see a deviation from wingers and forwards to curling shooters.

If the deep bus breaks to press to prevent the curling shot, there has to be a slight back or sideways pass to the driving shooter (Fabinho for example - Rodri also has it but not as accurate as Fabino), to lace a rocket.

This will in turn cause the parked bus to break to prevent loads of curling and driven shots.

That is where Ndidi needs to revive his shooting because if Nacho or other curlers are marked, then Ndidi's shots are needed.

Ndidi's driving shot against Club Brugge.

No bro, I am not worried, if he turns out for Nigeria, he is gonna be a 4th or 5th choice striker at most. Dude doesn't offer more than Moffi, and he definitely isn't as good as Osimhen, Nacho, Nwankwo and Maja. If he was good enough, he wouldn't be headed for the Jupiler league in his prime. Quality wise, he is in the same category as Onuachu, Moffi, Sadiq and co.

Let's see who does better between him and Arokodare in the Jupiler league, should Aroko join Anderletch as predicted in the media.

The main thing is we have many options in the striking position. It shows our grasroots football is developing.
