Another reason why I said our youths are too lazy to think just played out in your quote...
Its a known fact that politics is an expensive venture all over the world even in America and Nigeria is not left out...
Definitely impossible for him to be received in PDP without some few promises made...
Take it or leave it, no money was exchanged between Obaseki and PDP as a party aside including the individuals who stepped down for him as flag bearer in his government if reelected. Very funny, kindly explain what Gov. Wike was alluding to Obaseki came and also insisted on his deputy as well...hmmm and no money exchanged hands just meat pie and soft drinks... 2 Likes 1 Share |

Only lazy youths on nairaland will not think and see that politics (politicians) in Nigeria which includes edo state are deeply rooted in corruption...
Everyone of them is looking for where to eat without working...
The problem Obaseki is facing in edo is the problem of him not sharing money anyhow to politicians, simple...
But as usual, our people will always act first and think later...
I pray edolites can stand there ground and vote for him, he has not done badly as far as I am concerned...
I am just worried that our people can easily be cajoled to vote him out with few cups of rice and few naira notes...
Lets wait and see, September is next month. You can still pass you intended thoughts without insults and name calling...just my thinking 1 Like |

There are people who are insatiable. Even Buhari has enemies from his family, compound and within. Obaseki is not a bad product from an unbiased assessment. The KPI to gauge a governor's performance in Nigeria is the payment of salary. To this end civil servants have not come against him. Edo is not a rich state like other Niger Delta states. His efforts may not be seen immediately because he is not into window dressing. Any good economist does not target short term projects but long investments. Do you agree that civil servant form about 5% of the eligible work force in the state Do you further agree that by your statement, the money meant for all is being used for 5%. While allowing all to suffer from infrastructural decay, flooding due to blocked drains and all. Where is the logic in that? 1 Like |

Where is the fire? Where is the mountain? Have you never heard of fifth columnists? When your fourth or fifth generation cousins suddenly claim to be your immediate brothers or representing your entire family, won't you just laugh at them as they make mockery of themselves and call them fools?
If it was so easy they should have presented themselves as candidates to contest even local council elections. They would simply claim that Godwin Obaseki did not give them their due share in the contracts or wealth of Edo state. Great nations did not attain their heights through such methods.
If Obaseki is trying to create jobs, ensure security and build infrastructure with the lean resources, develop the state for them and their children, why not support him? Oshiomole dealt with the likes of Bob Izua when he became the governor, yet heaven did not fall. If Obaseki says agberos are agents of set back to the peace and financial stability of his state, then they must leave. Now all funds generated through the parks, etc go directly into the state purse and not enrich some crooks. If (without possibility) Ize Iyamu wins and returns the agberos, who would be blamed? Oshiomole who chased them away now wants them back as a way of recovering power. Rubbish. If agberos are dealt with in Lagos, do you know how much will return to the pockets of passengers? Do you know how much will be in the pockets of transporters? Do you know how much will get into the state account?
Ize Iyamu wants to claim that he penetrated Obaseki's family and show to the world that Obaseki did not help his family with state funds. Is this not a sign of what Ize Iyamu will use state funds to do with his family and friends? All those who have decamped thought they could get millions yet they only got their salaries as at when due.
Obaseki was fair to them all.
Once again to all our youths. As long as you continue to support all those who loot your resources and underdevelop you, you will remain where you are. Oshiomole rightly introduced Obaseki as a technocrat and so far Obaseki has not failed to deliver.
What KPIs did you use to arrive at this conclusion Just paying civil servants salary for the business of government to continue for sustainability of itself. It's like putting fuel in the car, then start the vehicle without the vehicle moving 2 Likes 1 Share |

Edo: Ize-Iyamu laments rejection by APC govs as 2023 torrents spill
The All Progressives Congress in Edo State has suspended the formal flag-off of its Governorship campaign indefinitely, following alleged refusal by 14 out of 18 Governors elected on the platform of the party (names withheld) to endorse a future that is shrouded in a dense fog of uncertainty as the Candidate of the party in the September 19, Governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu continue to struggle through a significant logjam in his most ambitious and dangerous political endeavour.
Investigation revealed that the Governors decision to distance themselves from the Pastor Ize-Iyamu Campaign borders on the the alleged failure to carryout the directive of Yobe Governor, Mai-Mala Buni and Chairman of APC Caretaker/extra-ordinary Convention Committee directive to the warring factions of the party in Edo State to fuse their party structure into the leadership of Bar. Anselm Ojezua as part of peace deal after the APC National Executive Council (NEC) sacked the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party led by its former Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on June 25, 2020 after the crisis rocking the party attained its apex level ahead of the 2023 General election.
Speaking at a zoom meeting with sub-Coordinators of his Campaign recently, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, described attempt by the APC Governors to abandon him mid-way as distasteful and unfortunate.
A personal aide to Pastor Ize-Iyamu, hinted our Correspondent that his Principal almost broke down in tears while lamenting that he "is becoming home and dry as a result of the development.
“I am fully aware that about 14 APC Governors are not for us. The most worrisome aspect of it is that, they are neither hiding nor apologetic about why they are not supporting him".
According to the aide, the little that he (Ize-Iyamu) has achieved so far, is as a result of his one personal and the support of a popular Benin business Mongol and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The source also quoted the Edo APC Governorship Candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, also blamed his travails on the national leader of APC, Mr Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over their unwillingness to reconcile with their formal allies including most of the APC northern Governors to have a change of heart and pave the way for the opposition party to full the gauntlet APC campaign as destructive trajectory created by preference of the 14 APC for the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic party in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki, becomes glaring.
But Ize-Iyamu, according to the source, was however encouraged at the meeting not to concede defeat, despite the daunting challenges ahead of him including his inability to agree on a particular venue for the formal flag-off of his campaign. |

When Obaseki was disqualified by APC screening panel he crawled to PDP and bought their ticket without shame. Obaseki was APC governor for over 3 years, only to get PDP party ticket just after 1week of leaving APC. Armed with his dollars every PDP man standing started singing for the Messiah has arrived. There was no shame. Same way Ize-Iyamu came and hijacked the party's ticket too. Obaseki moved once. But Ize-Iyamu has moved three times. So who should be more ashamed? |
