OriakuAmara: If you go to streets of Enugu and interview random 100 Igbos in the busy streets. Not up to 3 will know that there is an ethnic group called Ikwerre. But 100% will know Yorubas or Ibibio. Most Igbos don't know there is a group somewhere called Ikwerre. They sure know of PH. But they don't know Ikwerre. The assumption is that they are all Ndi mbamili (same as Ijaws). The average Igbo man don't know Ikwerre exists, until he visits PH and gets exposed to Ikwerre Igbophobia. It's IPOB that is putting Ikwerres on the spotlight with the Igweocha capital nonsense and Ohanaeze that still have them in the organization that is making a mole into a mountain. 4 Likes 1 Share |

24SEVEN: I'm yet to see any Igbo man or official claiming Ikwerre publicly. But we have Ikwerre frauds like Amaechi, Okwukwu, all trying hard to impersonate Igbos. You tribeless people have also refused to give up your current Igbo language and names and it's distorted forms you call Ikwerre language and names and relearn your Bini language and start taking Bini names too. This is all we are saying you do. Stop trying to impersonate Ndiigbo. Embrace your Bini and Yoruba selves. Your ancestors might have cowered and suffered from inferiority complex when they heard Igbo ancestors speak Igbo that made them drop their Bini /Yoruba language and names for the current Igbo ones you have. But you current Ikwerre generation have the wherewithal to reverse their inferiority complex induced mistakes. You can employ Bini language teachers and change your names back to Bini ones. Because, Ndiigbo will not stop dragging you around and disgracing you, until you have done the above. You are so pathetic that you depend on Ndiigbo for language and names. How useless can you be? Even Ogonis as small as they are retained their language, but your slow ancestors couldn't retain yours. 4 Likes |

OriakuAmara: You're flogging a dead horse. Ikwerre has no affiliation with Igbo. We have a distinct identity. Our language regardless of closeness with Igbo remains our language. Don't stress yourself over issues you have no control over. The Ikwerre language, culture and traditions will remain Ikwerre identity. Learn to live with it. 2 Likes 1 Share |

For as long as you continue impersonating Ndiigbo by refusing to go back to your Bini names and language. Ndiigbo will keep disgracing you and make sure you realize how weak, inferior and retarded you are for having to use Igbo language, names and culture and not Bini ones. The joke is on you. 4 Likes |

HopeAtHand: The language can't be yours. Because you are Binis and Binis don't speak Igbo or Igbo related names. You are slow shameless copy cats. As a Bini, you should be speaking an Edoid language and not Igbo one. Take a look at Epie Attisa. As small they are, they retained their Edoid language. Employ Bini language teachers and cure your shame. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Every single Igbo should be angry about how Ikwerre has oppressed Asa and Ndoki in Rivers because the people will not drop their Igbo tag. MelesZenawi: Exactly. The loud mouthed Wike went to visit Oba Bini. We at least expected him to change to his real ancestral Bini name. Something like Osagie, and then beseech the Oba for cheap Bini language tutors to go back to his Rumu villages with him and teach his people their original language. But alas, he returned home empty handed. Ndi uchu! 5 Likes |

24SEVEN: Secondly, you attack her based on facts not verbal attacks. the young lady has been a good advocate for ndigbo and you disparage her because she stands for igbos and with igbos. Don't attack her because she believes in Igbo. You are attacking her because she refused to cast aspersions on igbo... once again be guided. |

24SEVEN: Lol! With 3.5 LGAs? When Ndiigbo are ready and fully expel Ikwerre parasites in Ohanaeze Ndiigbo. You will see how important numbers are in politics once we bring it to fore for Oyigbo. The Riverine Ijaws want power and we want you cut to pieces. I believe we can work out a deal. Oyigbo will be fine. Those of us in the know are not unaware of your evil against them simply because they have refused to give up their Igbo tag like you forced the Etches into doing. You are innately evil. MelesZenawi: That's what Ikwerres have done in Rivers state. Any Igbo clan that accepts Igbo tag. Ikwerres will single them out for marginalization, cajoling, intimidation, victimization . They will sustain this pressure unrelentlessly until the clan beomes hapless and denounce Igbo just to survive in Rivers state. They have failed at Asa and Ndoki in Rivers because the rest of Asa and Ndoki in Imo state made things too difficult for them. 7 Likes |

Ooni:I noticed it as well, that Ikwerre dialects are like a mixture of dialects together. Some Ikwerre dialects have pronounced Owere influence, and some are more centralized, tending towards Anambra like ie. 'o malu mma', 'wene yi' (nwanne yi, the 'yi' being popular in Onitsha and environs). |

RedboneSmith: I’ve heard it severally in Ikwerre songs. Maybe they used Anambra influence in their songs but I could be wrong. One Ikwerre singer I listened to said, ‘akwa juwa gburu wene yi n’ihi iwai’ = ‘okwa ginwa gburu nwanne gi n’ihi ego’. Another said, ‘o bu na I rige iji m ze ma enye yi iji’ = o buru na I na-eri ji, m ga-enye gi ji. Etc. |
