Good evening house. I want to appreciate everyone for their contribution on this forum. I have benefited immensely from everyone here. I am at the tiling phase and I seek your counsel. Please kindly help me vet this quote for the tiling work of my 3 bedrooms bungalow. Thank you

mufutau55: Yes it will work. If Egun is hell bent on this design, then the connector should be at the bottom of both tanks and not at the top. So no tank is superior to the other. Both will fill at the same time and both will empty at the same time. But there will be complications if the property is for rental. For example, if users of Tank A are wasteful in water usage than Tank B, it means Tank B users will share in the cost of frequent pumping of water for the wasteful use by Tank A. 1 Like |

Perfecttouchade: Evening boss.. Cc: MrOkenwa The major factor to note is, if the king post goes beyond 10ft - 11ft (actual length of hardwood), cost is greatly increased. However, anything from 2.4m (8ft) is adequate... It all comes down to choose and aesthetic.. Goodluck 2 Likes 2 Shares |

diordaves: Thanks for all the responders. Yes the property is for rental and I don’t want any complications so I’ll go back to the drawing board. I think I’ll just make the whole shebang independent. 2 Likes |

EgunMogaji2: The 1st drawing can’t work that way,if tank A filled up it can’t enter tank B bcs both tank have the inlet at same level. The best for that system is for the both tank to supply each other from the bottom inlet. See attached pics for that Now if the system is for commercial for diff tenant then the second diagram (see attached pics) will be perfect for such. Their will be a valve from the bore hole or from the municipal pipe into the two tank through only one pipe line then you will separate the pipe into each tank with valve on each branch, then if mr A need to pump water he will shot off MR B tank supply valve same applicable to Mr B if he needs water vise-visa. More so both can open the valve at a go to have water from the main source 2 Likes

mufutau55: I have been in contact with ibibioson , who is a client in diaspora. I prepared the BOQ of the said project. From my investigation so far, HSL BROKER, is not in any isolation center. He has absconded with my clients N3m and is using COVID19 to buy time. We have told him to provide the location of the Isolation center to verify his claim. But he is yet to respond. EgunMogaji2: If this is supplying to two different houses or flats then this is not ideal. Tank A must fill up for tank B to get water. Reducing daily work does not really come into play, its 5000L combined to get both tanks filled, the pumping machine will work 5000L no matter what system you use. The best is to have one pumping machine source with a water flow switch over system that can direct the water pump flow to either A or B. 1 Like |

raymondFirstborn:This is very sad. I knew the covid19 story was a pure lie. As human, we're meant to be considerate and empathetic but not in this case of a cooked covid19 story. rotecch77: So it is #5,000 that a Q.S charges for Cost estimate, abi? SMH sef. The behaviour of that #Akin4sure is disgraceful, let us call a Spade, a Spade. He presented himself as if he wanted to "assist" the poster. Note that the poster asked for assistance, he did not ask for a Q.S and if you cant assists, you just need to lookaway from such request. "Assistance" are FREE on this thread and assistance that will normally costs #100,000 have been given for free here. Akin4sure now lured the poster off this thread, so he can con him behind all of us. Is he a Q.S that he is charging as a Q.S, according to you? I know that so-called professionals want to back each other and insist that the assistance we give each other here is abolished, as it does not work in their favour but l know that most of those who call themselves professional today, where asking "unprofessional assistance", when they came here as a rookie to learn and get better. No one should think they are indispensable just because they have acquired small experience over time, mostly from learning from what others are doing. We all know as things started here. 4 Likes |

DaBogu: Looking at your building, a few things are obvious: - There is water/stream flowing nearby - Your walls are wet, showing that the land is saturated with water - Your land is swampy, looking at that picture - Your building is not eqipped for the terrain challenges. In a situation like yours, the foundation is the most important element and on this, you have not done well. Anyone building near a stream or in a swamp should be prepared to spend on the foundation, using Granite, Stone Dust and enough Cement, for an appropriate type of Raft Foundation. Infact, the cost of such foundation amounts to between 30-45% the cost of the whole building, depending on how many levels your building is going. Again, the building needs a rich combination of Cement, not the weak type that falls apart under small stress Again, you cant be economical with Iron and Concrete beams and Pillars. For example, you shoud have chained the Lintel all around, to lock the top of the building together with the bottom adn foundation, in one whole piece, making it difficult to experience sheers that can lead to cracks. If you want to enjoy this building, l must say, most unfortunately, you might have to pull it down because the foundation is non-existent and whatever repairs and palliative you do on it, the problem will re-appear within three to five years maximum and you will end up spending much more money on repairs, over time and even with all that, you will still lose the building. It is a bad building , as l look at it. Pulling it down and starting afressh is the best option though it looks costly rigth now. Sorry about this but who helped you start this building? Does the person have any experience in building in swampy areas at all? 3 Likes |

Neweko: You are in good hands here. That problem is occuring at an ANGLE of the building. - I observe that the problem is localised to that angle alone - I also did not see the problem continue to the lower floor, it is only on that upper floor So, l think it could be from a very small settlement that puts pressure on your walls but its effect is felt at that point, due to some inherent failure in that part of the building e.g, if your bricklayer/builder was putting Cement paper inside Pillars when filling them, to reduce amount of Concrete mix he will use! My suggestion is that you arrest the problem quickly. - Completely Break up that Edge of the building. - There is supposed to be a Starter Pillar with iron, coming from the decking at that point, attachor new 14mm or 12mm iron rods - Now, do a rick mix (and we the attached blocks and wall properly ) and fill it up again. - Use the adjoing walls as the two sides of the new Pillar and just cope the exposed part on them walls to form your new Pillar, such that the Pillar formation goes into the wall crevices naturally. - Let the mix be rich and a bit watery but not too watery.. Use 1/2" granite (Rice) Supervise the filling yourself and make sure no foreign object is used to stuff the Pillar during filling Plaster and repaint and you will have nothing to worry about in future. I am saying this based on the picture shown and on the assumption that there are no cracks elsewhere on the building, which might indicate a different problem and solution. 3 Likes |

EgunMogaji2: Exactly! If waterlogged or swampy land is cheap, be aware that the Foundation will take back whatever you saved on cost of land. But surprisingly, land located near Rivers, Beaches, etc are even more costlier becuase people pay for "the view"! Building in such places isnot for the "faint pocket" at all and you cant rush the building. Settlement, Rammering and other things like that have to be taken into consideration and rules followed to the letter. Once you take the RULES into consideration and dont cut corners, it is not as difficult though it will cost an arm and a leg to overcome some challenges like doing your soakway, in such terrian. How is Madam. 2 Likes |
