Lexusgs430:What about meeting farmers rearing goat and buying the full goat? They may even help to kill it and roast it. Is that not possible in the UK? |

Hello gòod people, Hope our weekends have been great. I have a few questions that I will appreciate your help with. 1. Is there any one here working in the health and safety sector, or HSE or oil and gas industry who can give me some tips how to get a job in that sector or industry or both? 2. I have been out of work for about 3 years (pregnancy and childcare) and looking to return to work, any advice on what to do to break in. Any remote work advice especially as I still have under 5s to care for. Many thanks for your responses. God bless. |

famzynet: Some people do that , I know someone who did that in Spain but I don’t know about UK farmers, would they want to risk their livelihood for an African’s craving? Maybe an Asian or African farmers if you can find one. |

Fynebouy:.. I’m assuming you’ve got your drivers license?. There are loads of HSE related jobs around the SE of England that you can start applying for. But they require travelling and staying away from home sometimes. There are no flexible oil and gas jobs that I know. However there are field engineering jobs all over the place .... go into LinkedIn and Indeed.uk and search for field service engineer.... most of these companies would train u after you pass their interviews and assessment.... Good afternoon all and happy new month. For those of us who are residing in the UK and want to renew their passport post-locdown (including myself), it appears the Nigerian High Commission in London is opened. Following the eid celebrations the commission would be opened at regular hours based on the information on the website. The only thing is that there is no further information regarding allocation of appointment dates to those who are applying after the lockdown restrictions were lifted. It would be worthwhile to physically check at the office for more information if you are living close to London. Cheers. |

claremont:Thank you, that explains it, I have just been wondering why I can't find goat meat with skins, never knew its was banned. I have another question, do they farmers wash the goat meat with some chemical after killing it, cos all the goat meat they sell here smell like beef, they no get that nigerian goat meat odour |

Hi. Does anyone knows how to transfer cash in pounds from a Uk bank account to a GTB domiciliary account |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by claremont(m): 4:31pm On Aug 02, 2020 |
Mellady: You might never see goat meat with the authentic Nigerian smell here in the UK. The closest I have perceived was when I lived in Colchester, Essex and I used to buy goat meat at Wicks farms. I and my Ghanaian friend would buy a quarter goat each which would last us for months. The goat meat sold there had a slight Nigerian smell but it was without the skin as normal. I think the best bet is to buy a full live goat from a farm, kill it and roast it yourself like muslims here do when celebrating Eid. Better still, hire a local butcher to come to your home to do it for you. Technically, that is legal as the goat meat isn't being sold to the public. 1 Like |

brine:For my Lloyd's account, I just transfer directly using my mobile app. It has international transfer as an option. Or you could use your bank card to transfer money via transferwise and the likes. |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by marylandcakes: 4:55pm On Aug 02, 2020 |
Mellady: It’s that smell that’s puts most people here off goat meat, that’s why it’s cheap and most English people don’t really like it. |

Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by brine(m): 5:28pm On Aug 02, 2020 |
Zeecos: Thanks I've been using transferwise but I think the exchange rate is a rip off compared to when exchanging at a local BDC. I use barclays on the other hand and the international transfer option does not includes Nigeria I'm ideally just looking for better rates than that of transferwise. 1 Like |
