Waec is a secular body. Friday is a work day and it can set the timetable for Friday as it deemed fit.

If a student is too religious and feels he's religion is more important than the exam for that day then he can forego the exam and go for worship. After all waec has and will never force any student to write any Paper at any particular time.

The issue is not that WAEC should not fix papers on Fridays, but that no exam should come at the time the Muslim students are expected to observe their Friday's prayers. Anything otherwise is infringement on their right to religious practice. WAEC exams on Fridays can come any time between 8am to 12pm and 3pm till the time WAEC so desire.
Think about WAEC fixing papers on Sunday mornings when most Christians observe their Sundays services.
If we are objective we can see things objectively.

Your argument is funny at best. When will WAEC evolve? No substitute days, no flexibility. Have you ever written international exams like GMAT or GRE? There's always flexibility, you are not tied down to one date, this is the future of exams not the nomadic system you're supporting. Whether you like it or not, people's religions and traditions must be respected, you can't just say choose betwen education or religion, this is a weak argument!

That's bullshit and you know it! No other examination body ignores religious obligations, even in the USA, people are given alternative days to write SAT and other exams. You mentioned weekend but how the heck does that correlate with anything? Weekend to you might be the start of the week for others, not everyone is bound by your gregorian calander! Furthermore this is not even about religion but the lack of flexibility the examination bodies in Africa are giving candidates.

Look into how exams are written in Europe, America, canda and so on, you'll see people have flexibility. This flexibility ensures freedom of religion, solutions to emergencies and so on but once again Africans must stand behind mediocrity and embrace the hard knock life.....lol.

GMAT or GRE are totally different from WAEC. WAEC/GCE is an international exam writen by multiple countries.

I don't understand why some people like to create problems, ministry of education for that matter why they don't fix the exams too on Sunday...... Shit like this really don't make sense if people of high profile can be creating problem for no reason. so why is schools closing by 1pm every Friday then?

You are slowpoke and dunce combined. The Muslims have right to practice their religion without any obstacle place on them. Why is it so difficult for WAEC to fix Friday's papers at times that will not conflict Muslims time for their Fridays' prayers?

well said, at the same time the ministry of education is at fault, I believe is not one person that fix the time table so they should have look into it properly before publishing things like this that will cause outrage.

Then, let that person that made Saturday and Sunday unofficial days for government activities, thereby making WAEC not to fix exams in these days also makes allowances for times in Fridays when Muslims will have to observe their prayers too.
Or is that a difficult task?
