And by the looks of it, you have totally died every momentum you had going on with the first.

A simple:

"Hi, Just following up on this."

Would have been okay, rather than telling him about renewal costs and all of that.

Most buyers don't even want to understand that what you're saying is the truth, as long as you've asked them for more money, you've started looking shady.

Also, I feel you should just give it time.

You can only conclude "buyer hasn't paid" when it's like 3 days late.

Leaving him countless follow up messages every few hours looks spammy/amateurish.

And he may even begin to re-access his decision because of it.

Someone just used my moniker to scam on another thread which involved three people: The victim, The escrow(the one that used my moniker) and the buyer. They did the transaction via WhatsApp and when the victim asked what the escrow moniker was, he said AROFX(which is my moniker). The victim went ahead without doing any verification here on nairaland and now he was scammed. I have been accused wrongly and i hope my MONIKER is cleared of this very soon because it's traumatizing.

Let me drop this short one, sometimes its good to always renew your domains. If you have the fund.

Personally am of the school of though of not renewing domains after one year, except i have a personal affection on the said name.

2months ago i gave a friend of mine a domain name to outbound for me, and she did and he got some replies of interest, but the domain was almost due for expiration.

I told him if non of the endusers pay, before expiration am not renewing, he pleaded i do i said no, and that he can have the name if he wants but he would renew it.

We both forgot about name, and it expired, one of the previous endusers he messaged, mailed him that he is ready to pay $250 for it. But by then, the domain was no longer in my portfolio. And was not available for registration. I monitored this domain till i saw it on expired domains as now available for registration.

I called my friend since i keep to my words, and he registered it through epik, ans listed on Dan last month.
He then messaged the enduser that was ready to pay, and she said ahe could only trust GoDaddy.I was only advising him on the replies to give to the enduser, and he were able to convince the enduser to use Dan. And she finally payed and domain transferred.
I cleared the funds for him through btc and everyone is happy. he dashed me something shall for all the stress, and advice and clearing the funds for him under 24hrs.
