But, you don't have to blame people.... I had an account of a closed pally that was hacked and we often discussed business deals and he came up with a business idea. He asked me to think of buying building materials to supply to some buyers and he asked that I should pay in some cash into a certain account and he claimed that account was his account. But[b] that wasn't the account I normally use to transact with him.[/b]


So I called him via phone and he told me he wasn't the one. Note that I was almost transferring this money because I trusted this guy....


Most people falling for pranks like this, fall out of trust based on whose account was used (hacked).

So I don't see them as gullible or dummies.

From News reports, A Student of University of Calabar, Miss Veroncia Bako from History and International Studies Department was reported committed suicide over being fraud of N100,000.

From the investigation we gathered, the late student login online on Friday Morning and started chatting with a fraudster who introduced her to an "investment scheme that will double her money".

She decide to transfer a sum of N100,000 which happen to be her school fees, she was yet to pay her fees due to pandemic.

After she discovered it was a scam, she was depressed. By 10am, her sister's noticed she was down, she told them that she's fine. The deceased was compiling a list for her mother to go the market.
