Good day my people, this is my first time here, I am planning to immigrate to Canada through the various Canadian immigration platform with my sister who holds a bachelors degree, so I am currently running my Masters in Statistics, as I was told it will add more points to me. I also work in a bank as a Statistical data analyst and have 'a year +' experience in that role. I also have a brother, not direct (not same surname) but same kindred who lives in Canada, and I am thinking of using that to add points. I also plan to write Ielts next year. I am single and would be 28 when I am done with my Masters. Please what can I do to maximize my chance of immigrating to Canada as a Statistician/data analyst. I really do not want to miss it when I apply?

Hello house , please help me out.

How long does the medical test last ?
How long does the PCC last?
Does our new baby need PCC too?
Can she upload her msc result on WES pending when her transcript will be send?

Because I will be out of country when my wife received ITA by God's grace.

Lastly, we do have up to 2milion in our Pension account, and we been family of 3, can we just add up the remaining 3.6m with the pension money? if yes, what is the procedure?

About the pension funds, you can only use 25% pension funds and you must get a letter expressly stating that the said 25% is accessible/available to you.

you cannot use kindred to add points. They also have records of his sibling as declared when he applied himself am its certain you are not among. Focus on your master, pass ielts well and attain 3 years experience. Your are good to go

Thank you so much Ednut, so I have a sister who also works in a bank and we planning to immigrate together, do you think we can add points together?, is there a limiting factor, what can we do to maximize our chances. Would getting a job at Canada first be worth struggling for first, what strategy can we employ so that we can plan in that direction? Thanks a lot

read page 1 and research more. You are to apply individually. Nothing like combine scores for siblings. Almost impossible to get a job from here as there are people on ground in canada without jobs. As an employer why would i want someone who i Dunno when he will get approved andland in canada while there are Canadian citizens and pr on ground.

No i did upload my certificate before my transcript was delivered to WES Canada, so why did you say NO. am ready to learn ooo

No, your 2 million pension only amounts to 500k (the 25% that is accessible to you if you are out if job for 4 months) in the POF calculation. Request for a reference letter and 6 months statement from your PFA

Same kindred does not work. Has to be your sibling or half-sibling. To get maximum points in work experience, you need like 3 years of work experience.

Please I missed out and I am just seeing this now. Please is there still a second chance on this zoom meeting stuff. I'll be so glad to join as I am also looking into the same Ontario. Thank you
mbhs139:
Hello everyone, Good evening from Milton, Ontario, Canada. I know it's mid-night in Nigeria, 3.06am to be precise, while it is 10.06pm here.

Sometimes ago, that was earlier this year, I requested to help any interested persons send their credentials to WES from my end here, and some people responded, and it is my pleasure to have helped out, at my own cost, because I got a feed back from them that WES actually received their credentials and updated their record.

Today marks my one year anniversary in Canada, and in my "Canniversary" as we use to call it, I'm ruminating on the idea of doing a Webinar, through Zoom, for a question and answer sessions for any interested member of this forum.

I'm looking at doing a two hour session: the first one hour will be done in the comfort of my house, while in the second and final part, I will take you round some facilities, virtually, in my area, to wet your apatite and further increase your interest and thus motivate you to put in more effort.

I mean, for whatever difficulty you may be going through at this point in time, I want to encourage you not to give up. For you to have gotten to this stage, I know you have gone so far, and backing out at this time is a waste of time, effort and resources. Please believe me that you'll not regret all these wahala at the end of the day if it eventually materialize.

For instance, look at me, the last time I went to work, because of Covid-19, was on April 3rd. I am safely in my house, using the advantage to take online courses because the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) of CAD2,230 comes in every month, which is enough for me to pay my rent and phone bills, and still send money to family and friends in Lagos grin

My children, two boys, 5 and 3 years old, collects CAD1,200 monthly for their Child Care Benefit, and it will be increased in July; my wife, who is a student receives CAD2,000 every month because of Corona, and she's on a CAD28,000 per session OSAP loans and grant- 8k is loan and 20k is grant, for two sessions, making 56k dollars. Details of how to go about this will be shared during the session.

So, kindly signify if you're interested and drop the likely questions you may have in mind so that I can research about it before time. Whatever questions, ranging from jobs, housing, child care benefit, schooling, getting loans and grant for goin to school and life in Ontario generally.

However, there's a CAVEAT! No one, I repeat, no one can tell you about Canada! They can only tell you about the Province, and at best the Region they have lived in or that they are living in.

Canada is nine times bigger than Nigeria, if not bigger than the whole of West Africa. Even Ontario where I live is 1.96 times bigger than Nigeria. In my one year sojourn in this land, I only know of and have lived in Mississauga and Milton, and have worked in Toronto. I've been to Oakville once, which is just behind Milton, 15min drive, when I don't have business there.

Milton is in the Halton Region, that is the equivalent of our own Local Government, and it has the following towns: Burlington, Milton, Oakville, and Halton Hills. Trust me, I've been to only Oakville, and it was just the police station. You know, discussing Canada in its entirety will be like someone who lives in Sabo-Yaba, works on the Island in his short stay in Nigeria, has never been to Badagry, and he's now talking of Ghana grin grin.

In any case, I may be able to give some insights about Ontario, perhaps that could help other folks looking at other Province. So, that's the deal.

Asking:
Good morning all. Please I need clarification on the date to use for my nysc experience to claim one year experience. I'm trying to enter the ee pool, I want to know what to use as my starting and ending date. Also, do I need to get my ielts certificate before filling my data or do I fill in my ielts candidate no. Thanks. Urgent replys please.
For me I put the start and end dates on my discharge certificate. Don't know if I'm wrong.

Sibling point is what you can claim. Brother or sister!
Cousin is not sibling.

By the time you finish your masters, you would have gained more work experience provided you keep working. I will say just work on doing the IELTS well. You’re still under 30 which is good.

This thing about people saying it is easy to get some jobs in Canada. Well it might be, but don’t forget they will consider Citizens, PRs and those that have studied in Canada first. If a citizen or PR can as well do what you can do, as an outsider, they won’t really consider you. Also there are many people globally competing and applying to jobs in Canada too and hoping.

But no harm applying and applying tho smiley just don’t have high expectations so that it doesn’t lead to frustration.

Good evening Seniors in the House, I overheard a conversation between an agent now and his potential client who is interested in Canada PR processing either through EE or other pathway.
The man is 55years and wife is 51 years old.
Children - 24yrs, 21yrs, 18yrs etc.
Now the agent told the man that they are not eligible due to their age but one of the Children can stand in as Principal Applicant PA especially the 24years old child, The child will be PR and after the application is successful, the father, mother and other family will be dependent.

Abeg, is this information True?

The child who has age on his side plus a post graduate degree will have very high chance of getting ITA, settle in Canada and sponsor his parents.
Better still, if the parents are boxed up, there are investment routes to permanent residency in Canada, I think Quebec offers such.

Each of those kids will need to file individually as they're all 18 and older. At this point, they're all adults.

But to even begin the application process, they need to have at least one degree and at least one full year of work experience. The 24 year old can apply now if he/she meets those requirements. The others should finish their first degree and get at least one year of work experience and apply on their own.

The 24 year old can "sponsor" their parents if they get PR and settle down. They can also give sibling points to the other 2 when they're ready to apply.

there are investor pathways. Some require net worth of 500k to 600k cad. And investment in a new or old business of around 100k to 200k cad. The 24 year old son can work towards masters and 3 years experience and sponsor the parents too.

Good evening all,
Please will it raise an eyebrow if a family of 3 is getting their POF as gift deed from parents or sibling?
Is it advisable or should one desist from it if possible. Note the person has over 5years working experience.
Thanks for Ur valuable inputs

See info here on who can be a dependent and procedure for future sponsorship of family members. The agent probably meant when one of the children is successful i.e. a permanent resident they can sponsor the parents.

The 50 year old couple can also explore investment options if they are very wealthy circa US$500k and above, like someone mentioned. The cheapest route is probably what the agent mentioned though.

The Canadian immigration programs are straightforward and can be done without agents. The family can nominate the 24 year old to conduct further research.

I think the person meant its easier for bankers to obtain a visitor visa in Nigeria, then look for a job when they get there.
