Anyone who has passed that Ilasa knew it was a disaster waiting to happen. You have an express with a 3 lane road and due to the fact that HiTech(the silliest construction company ever) completely closed down the other side we now have buses facing one way and leaving only two lanes for on coming cars. Out of those two lanes, one is used by commercial buses to drop alighting passengers at the junction and the other is left for cars coming from Isolo heading towards Mile 2 and Cele at top speeds. If you have two cars approaching that junction at the same time you would definitely have such accidents.

Not being pessimistic but unless that road is redesigned and something drastic is done expect more of these to happen at bottlenecks on that road like Iyana Isolo and Ilasa. Every single time i have had to drive through that point it has always led to either almost an head on collision with a suddenly appearing car driving one-way or having to slow down or abruptly stop because only a single car can pass though. Imagine having all these rickety trailers with bad breaks at your back. I have to to always keep to the extreme left to avoid such now.

I can't fathom how you are constructing an expressway in a largely residential area and would not factor in bus lanes, lay-by and parking for motorists.

Seems we have stupid people in all facets of the country.

The two staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Chidinma Ajoku and Chinma who were crushed to death by a fallen container in Lagos, have been buried.

The sad incident happened at the Ilasamaja area of the state on the 26th July when the duo were on their home from work.

The 20-feet container fell on a commercial bus they boarded after the truck hit their bus while offloading passengers at the bus stop.
