Thanks for your response ma, I was referring to share Transfer forms, I filled the e-dividend mandate forms which I took to my bank GTB for confirmation since June, the man in charge said the bank can help me get it to the respective registrars, I doubt if he actually did that, it was later I found out that SEC had stopped bank confirmation, I have filled Africa prudential registrar e-dividend for my Uba, Afriprud & Ucap online which they acknowledged receipt, but informed me that I should liase with my broker to get share Transfer form send to them, it now remain e-dividend mandates for GTB, Zenith and Redstar which I will filled and send to them tru email this week, God's willing, thanks once again for ur everytime concern u always show newbies like me on this wonderful forum.

GTB will send it for you.
Even if you send directly to the registrar, they'd still upload on NIBBS for your banker to verify. So, no worries.
If you don't mind, you can fill new ones. Scan and send to the registrar. Do everything possible to get your DIVIDENDS.

There is no point comparing d--k sizes, stick to what works for you. NSE was never meant for and there is no crime in that, less than 10% of Nigerians actually know about the capital market and less than 4% of them are making money from the market.

... I've noticed zenith and Gtb, pls kindly state 3 more stocks you think would always move up whenever the index is moving up and goes down whenever the index does

Market Continues Its Bullish Run
Last week, NSE ASI continues its bullish run adding more than 348 index points; meaning 1.41% capital gain. 4 sectors gained (Banking: +5%, Oil & Gas: +5%, Consumer Goods: +0.72%; Industrial +0.1%) while only 1 lost (Insurance: -0.28%).

All short , medium & long term sentiments are now pointing towards "the north" as the tracked NSE30 Advanced-Decline Line is above "0", so also the McClellan Oscillator while the long term market breadth indicator is still below zero line but it's apparently gaining momentum to the upside. All these sentiments are informing investors/traders that it is completely safe to buy stocks on NSE. Chart 1 below.

Sector analysis is also showing momentum in the oil & gas sector while more opportunities are lurking in both industrial and consumer goods. My priority is on the banking sector. Lagging however in the Tier 2 banking are Fidelity & Sterling Banks which may be ready for their own upside momentum. Chart 2 below.

Wacthlist this week: Pharmaceutical industry, Agricultural industry, Banking Tier 2, Consumer Goods & Insurance.

Wishing everyone a happy trading week ahead!

...If I may contribute to your question, I would say most stocks move up as the index is going up & most stocks also go down as the index goes down. However, some stocks moves faster based on their perceived fundamentals and what is called beta. Like GTB, it has a beta of 1.1420, which means if the market (index) moves either way, GTB has the tendency to move same direction as the market by x1.1420. While UBA with beta of 1.3485 will move faster by x1.3485. And on the other hand a stock like Nestle with beta of 0.9 will move slower than the market.

.. thanks for your comments. I had technical issues with my audio systems and as a result, the weekly review likely not going to happen if I couldn't find a way out by end of today. Although the materials are intact but just the hiccups in the audio.

My apology for this!

As I understand it, the dividend will stay with the company's registrar untill that time when you complete ur e-dividend mandate. Though, CSCS will keep track of it as well.

Your stockbroker don't have anything to do with your dividend. The dividend issues is between you the investor, the company that declared it and the registrar of the company.
You must complete and submit the e-mandate form to your bank or the registrar otherwise your dividend will not be paid but kept in the custody of the registrar for 12 years. If after that you still didn't come to claim your dividend, it will be returned back to the company that declared it. This is what is obtainable as at this moment. Remember this is Nigeria the policy can change. I advice you do the needful and collect your dividend.

I think the current devalued CBN exchange rate will bring some form of direction to the market. Currency speculators will now be scrambling to cut losses grin grin.

There may not be any effect yet if the CBN doesn't provide some good amount of dollar in the system via sales to BDC,etc.

We simply don't have enough dollars in the system to save the naira at the moment. I am seeing a 3rd round of devaluation happening soon which will probably be the last.

It is one thing to adjust / devalue, it is another thing to soak up pent up demand / supply market at that new rate.

If the latter does not follow the former, expect the situation to remain the same (if not worsened)

They have taken the first step which is to bring stability to our currency. The exchange rate has been volatile for some time now.

Currency speculators that have been hoarding expecting it to reach #500 and above will have to sell out of panic or to book profit. We should begin to see dollar liquidity soon.

What of those that have been hoarding?

Won't they sell now leading to liquidity?

I want to believe dollar scarcity was artificial

Do you have a list of those speculating and hoarding dollars? There is just no sufficient fund in the system to meet FX obligations for now. Inflow of Dollar from Oil revenue has gone down.

Anyway, Guinness reversed, NB likely going to do same. Expect INTBREW to follow them in the rally.

The pharmaceuticals too are doing well so far.

Caveat: Not any form of advice. Just observation.

GUINNESS FINANCIAL YEAR END is June 30th unlike Nigerian Brewery and International Brewery that theirs are December 31st.

GUINNESS FULL YEAR result will be PUBLISHED by MONTH END between 27th/28th August 2020.

This YEAR being their 70th ANNIVERSARY in Nigeria the SIGNS are GLARING that we should EXPECT a BUMPER HARVEST. grin grin grin

You asked Mcy a difficult question here, it's always good to ask this type of question when market is down or trading 'flat'.......not when prices are going up.
My ogas will be in best position to answer this.
Actually, it depends on your investment objective, goal and horizon (horizon is OGG 's copyright).
The trio are great coys no doubt.........
Ucap moved from 2 to 3 already, may be heading towards 3.50, it may decide to drink water/stop over at 3/3.10.....all depends on Mr. Market.
Afriprud still traded at 4.10 last week, a good entry point, we don't know what Mr. Market may decide....either up or go back to pick more passengers.
UBA........ Direction not yet clear.......you may keep eye on the price mvmt.

** This is strictly my opinion**

Chief those that are hoarding wld not sell until they see that someone is in the market that could make the scarcity go away. it is only then they wld be willing to offload. it is just simple human economic behaviour.

so if cbn want to be taken serious it shld enter teh I& E window and provide enough liquidity as well as sell two to three weekly rounds to BDC

only then wld d hoarding / artificial scarcity go away
