Abdul. You mixing things up. The north is under Nigeria’s secular constitution. The constitution of Nigeria is supreme. Whilst the north is still under Nigeria, they have to abide by what Nigeria’s constitution is saying.

If the north thinks Islam is supreme and should come first, firstly, Nigeria has to break up, then, Muslim people can then form their nation.

I really wonder why someone should talk abt other people's religious affairs in ignorance. You can never see a Muslim insulting Jesus. Shld a Muslim insult Jesus (or any Prophet of God) in Sharia states in the North that accuse will face the same punishment (death sentence). Is it not better for govt to punish people for blasphemy than allow people to take law into their hand? Nigerian constitution give all states right to make their laws in accordance with their culture and traditions but some bigots are saying rubbish abt the North having Sharia system. North has Sharia system many centuries before the coming of British. So jst because you people didn't have religion, didn't have good system of govt fully enacted wth laws before the coming of Whites then you expect us to change to your new ways despite clearly mentioned in the constitution that we can make our laws & knowing fully well that constitutional laws of Nigeria supercede Sharia laws.
