Does the CSR/ Advisor roles qualify for PR,are they NOC B jobs and is the employer ready to give the necessary letter with the job duties to obtain PR? Also, doe the tech advisor, does it matter if the person does not have IT background as required by the NOC?
Long post alert! Hello fam, it's been a while here but first of all, my special appreciations goes to @Frankrobben1 @mcobex and @justwise, thanks alot for everything and am highly sorry i have not been so regular to contribute my quota on this great platform. Funny enough, i wanted to drop this post few weeks earlier but it has not been easy balancing work, personal life and family, it has been draining and exhausting at the same time but all the same, i thank God. @Osemigho, longest time to you bro . An important info: If you are currently in Canada and interested in a Work from home Customer Service Representative/Technical Support position, i know of a company that is currently hiring for multiple positions across Canada and they are 90% responsive employer, if interested please send me a PM stating your province and state. Secondly, please guys brace up and start improving your skills. Studying in Canada is nothing compared to the big struggle which is the labour market, anyone that says getting a professional job is easy is just deceiving you, Canadian employers value skill sets more than your qualifications infact 0.1/1000 would ask for your certificate before hiring you, what they are after is what you have to offer the company in terms of skill sets. I am not trying to scare anyone here but i want you all to think beyond just coming to Canada to study but what lies ahead of you after study. This is a topic that no one talks about and as you are waiting for your approval response from CIC or preparing to travel, start improving both your soft, interview and technical skills. Before you graduate, start networking with experienced professionals in your field, i cant emphasize this enough, ask questions and dont get tired of doing so, information is power in Canada and a person who doesn't seek for it will be left in the dark. Know the required certifications in your field, begin the journey before you graduate and make sure you get the most out of it. Let me sight an example. My younger brother just graduated in April, he did his masters in cyber security (am sure some people know him on this platform), this guy had studied his field and labour market to know the hot cake certifications he needed to get although they are quite expensive but he was working per time just to raise money to write those exams, he n 1 Like |

@All Experienced Folkes, @Frankrobben1 @mcobex and @justwise: Please, more insights and advice are needed on the questions I raised in my post below. Please help a brother. @Spotlights: Please, I need your insight based on the experience you shared below as it looks similar to my son's current situation. My son is a minor (15 years old) going for undergraduate studies (4 years program). As his father, should I position myself as the primary sponsor while his his aunt in Canada be the secondary sponsors? One year tuition and living expenses for him, his accompanying mother and younger brother (8 yrs old) is #10.5m (tuition 5.4m + expenses 5.1m), and all my savings till date is #6m. With this savings of mine, am I in best position to be the primary sponsor or his aunt (a Canadian citizen) whose savings is probably bigger than mine should be the primary sponsor while I serve as the co-sponsor? Between the annual tuition fees of 5.4m naira and living expenses of 5.1m naira: which one should I choose and write sponsorship letter for and which one should the aunt choose and write a sponsorship letter for? What are the implications if I choose to sponsor the living expenses as against tuition fees? What would the VO suspects if the aunt says she is only sponsoring the living expenses of my student son, his mother and his younger brother? Please note, this Canadian relative is my wife's aunt (i.e. younger sister to my wife's mother). She lives and works in Quebec with her own immediate family. But my son got admission into the University of Regina in Saskatchewan. Because of this long distance between Quebec and Saskatchewan, we fear VO may think she being in Quebec cannot play the role of a custodian to my son in far away Saskatchewan, hence my wife must apply together with him as his accompanying parent. To do this, my wife doesn't want to leave his 8 yrs old son behind when accompanying the elder son going to the university in Canada. Would it improve our chances of securing the study permit/TRV if we state that her visit would be temporary just to help the student-son settle down in the foreign land and that she would return immediately when that is done? We don't want the struggle of another round of searching for a nearby school to his aunt in Quebec. More so, we desire an opportunity which allows her mom (my wife) entry into Canny as this our son's minor studentship situation confers. I have just two sons and I am gainfully employed with annual gross income of 3.6m naira. I am afraid this my financial status appear too small to support this venture convincingly. Is this also a red flag? How can I bridge this gap? Your response to my plenty questions will be highly appreciated. Other gurus in the house, please kindly help with candid advise from your wealth of experience.
|

Greetings house , I had just submitted my student Visa application last week and I got a response after 24 hours to go for biometrics, now I noticed biometrics centers are closed in Nigeria, please what do I do in such situation ? Secondly I’ve been seeing the “AIP” often , what does it mean? I would appreciate any assistance regarding this thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Annettevoke(f): 4:53am On Aug 11, 2020 |
Biometric centers are closed as u mentioned, wait till they are opened and go for your Biometrics, meanwhile your application will be processed base on the new IRCC 2 stages process. AIP is the first, hopefully in 2 weeks or less you should know if you pass the first stage. all the best. Kayice001: |

Lekiboboe: Hello @Lekiboboe, @Frankrobbn, @osemigho Good day gurus in the house Is there any repercussion for carrying out upfront medical after one has already submitted online application but before receiving official medical request? cic website recommended upfront medical prior to submitting online application (so the evidence can be attached with application) OR after receiving medical request from IRCC. I applied since July 21, 2020 but have got no Medical request . My Program is for Spring 2021( May) |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by creativefun: 7:55am On Aug 11, 2020 |
Hello beckley, it's not an issue. You just need to sworn an affidavit from law court for the mistake in the spelling of your name, that would solve that issue, since you are in Dubai any of your relative can do that you will only need to send to them the scanned original copies via their email addresses so that they can print them out and also show the original soft copy on phone to the person to administer the affidavit in case of any confirmation of your documents, I believe that could help, all the best! My international student advisor told me not to register if i don't have my study permit. That her own advice is international students should not register for courses with AIP. Request for refund to avoid painful risk. I got research assistant of $10,000 per session and Entry Award of $6,000. I have also paid $6,100 as part of requested tuition deposit. My one semester tuition fee is $12,000 which is more than my total annual salary in Nigeria. I can't take such risk ooo. I will take advice of our gurus here. So unfortunate that my course has no option for winter, and no option to defer to next year. They said one needs to reapply for Fall next year. 1 Like |

milkytins: Wow... shitty situation I think your proof of funds is the only thing under eligibility they might recheck before giving you final approval? Have u been refused entry, deported before from a foreign country or had any issues both international and local, which your biometrics and police report may bring into light? If no, that means you are good, Also if your health is Ok, no tuberculosis , or anything serious that you spend so much on drugs for? Answer these questions and also confirm that your proof of funds will still be intact and sufficient incase they revisit it. If you are positive on the above, then I believe you should take the risk and register, as you have an excellent 90percent chance of getting final approval |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by milkytins(m): 9:35am On Aug 11, 2020 |
librangyps: This is my first application, so i haven't been denied b4. No health issues and proof of fund will still be intact. The only clause is that I added my family to my application (Wife and 5 yr old daughter). Leaving them behind is not an option. My supervisor gave me a supporting and convincing letter for VO, stating reasons why I must come and importance of the project to their community. And sincerely, the letter was massive. I did zoom interview, showed him my work by sharing my screen. Well, I have B.Sc. (FUNAAB), M.Sc. and Ph.D (OAU) in Computer Science. Currently going for Master program in Data Science. Can I still go ahead and gamble with $12,000? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by fratermathy(m): 9:42am On Aug 11, 2020 |
milkytins: I personally don't see why you can't go for it. You have some funding (which should normally be enough to take care of tuition). You have an AIP and your profile is very strong! It's a risk that will pay off if you ask me. Howevver, the choice is ultimately yours. No one knows your situation better than yourself. |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Lekiboboe: 10:39am On Aug 11, 2020 |
SKEPTA: Good Morning, 1)I Doubt the Availability of M.SC for Winter Intakes, Masters intakes are mostly slated for September, but with this COVID-19 Pandemic altering Calendars of some schools, they might be some readjustment who never can tell, a mail (as regards this) to the international Dept. of a school should be able to clarify that. 2)Yes its Ok, but most time it ain't always about CGPA, due to the competitive nature of M.SC, an Applicant might would need to stand out and craft his/her m.sc application well, most esp. if its a thesis-based masters that requires a Supervisor. Visit Page 112 for more info on that. 3) VISIT the link below schools im Canada offering Masters in Accounting & Accounting related programs https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Accounting&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH 4) The requirements for M.SC Accounting program of the respective schools would clarify if GMAT is needed or not |

Kekereekun123: This is my fear (annual income cannot sustain subsequent tuition), hence I am thinking of using my wife's aunt as a cosponsor to draft a letter of sponsorship stating that she has committed to take up the tuition till the end of my son's program. Do you think this approach can convince the VO and sufficiently answer the question around my insufficient fund status? What do you advise as a wayout in this situation of mine? Please, help a brother. |
