safetyboot: Here is the current status, though some portion was empty that is why we have more cassava there. But among the plantains there are also cassavas which I am not comfortable with 2 Likes 1 Share

I will expect that they should be way taller than this. I cant speak absolutely until further inspection but competition from the cassava may be affecting their growth. Maybe you can supplement this with direct manure/fertilizer application preferably chicken manure. safetyboot: |

great job from all the people that have shared their experience here. I am planning to start a plantain farm soon, i will like to know if its advisable to cultivate a plantain farm without irrigation, What are the risks to avoid when planning to plant around MAY/JUNE so as to harvest during peak period......hope 5 acres of plantain isnt too much for a beginner to start with........and finally what is the approximate cost of cultivating an acre of plantain farm in southwest part of nigeria from planting to harvest..... thanks |

brtrip: 20:10:10 at the initial stage of growths, (0-6 months) urea is adviced for vegetative growth (6- maturity) urea together with 20:10:10 shud be used I alternating dose every 2 weeks |
