Muslimity: If you don’t expect money from other sources or persons, yes your money is too small and your boy is too young to hustle. Don’t make his life miserable by sending him here without enough financial support. It is another talk if he chose this by himself because he may then see reasons to fight for himself. Yes, he will need to be a fighter to survive based on your current financial status and decisions to take him far from his aunt. If you are looking for alternative, Can you immigrate? If yes, this may be a cheaper alternative and you will here to support his schooling financially and emotionally. If no, can you get a diploma admission, two years commitment instead? Your savings will go a long way for the first year and you can use that time to save for the second year or at least get a loan to cover up. If diploma is also not an option, can you please get him admission around your aunt? At least he can live with her and she will feed and house him if necessary. You also have to consider if they, the aunt and him, have the capacity to live with one another peacefully. If no again, do you plan to sell properties or take loan to cope with the four year commitment of bachelors degree? Your salary is not enough for his tuition without adding accommodation and feeding. You also considering adding his mum and brother to the application. How do you want them to cope? Some people do this thinking they are helping, but end up breaking their family. Throwing him to Canada without enough money and social support will be a very bad idea. Studying in Canada is hard. Young lads don’t usually have the strength to understand and cope with it. Studying in Canada is challenging enough, don’t make his life miserable. Consider your options carefully So you don’t regret the decision you make now. You have asked questions and repeated some of them multiple times. You have to make a choice and be ready to face the consequences. All the best. 10 Likes |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Nobody: 8:56pm On Aug 11, 2020 |
Muslimity:even people 5 times richer than you dont try this kind of thing. Its best to do masters which is a one off payment not 4 year course. Go ahead and apply only one outcome is possible. In a country where most things are credit based you expect a relative to be sponsor when here own children may use loan for their own fees. Baba carry your son to private uni and save for his masters. Shikena 1 Like |

Osemigho: I believe if anyone register after AIP it will increase their chances of getting study permit. While AIP does not guarantee study permit approval, there is no denying that the VO will also be mindful of the fact that the AIP influence the registration and it will likely take strong overriding consideration for refusal after AIP. On the other hand not registring after AIP can affect the likelihood of study permit approval because there has been changes in the application and that will make the application to be subject to another eligibility review. I believe the aim of the AIP is to give people the go ahead to register provided they do not have any inadmissibility or medical issue, however not registring will bring another eligibility review 3 Likes |

Please, can a Godfather be a co sponsor? My biological mother is my main sponsor and she has the complete tuition and living expense for a year already (about 8m), plus a few extra millions (approx 3m+)... God father has an account of over 20m, but he is not related to me by blood. My biological father is late also. Is this possible? What kind of proof can I use to show that he’s really my God father? Or has anyone here been in this situation before? Also if my mother decides to be the only sponsor, can she list one (worth above 5m) of her 3 buildings as a property that she intends to sell to support my second year? What proof can we present to show that the property has really been placed on the market? Or will a letter from a lawyer do? PS: I’m 21, have a bachelors degree in Cell Biology and Genetics (just completed Nysc) and I’m going for a Masters in Medical Biotechnology (2 year program). Please help! |

Time2soar:VO won't know if you register or not and your registration has no effect on your study permit. IRCC and Schools are different bodies. 5 Likes |

milkytins: It is quite a tricky situation you are in but I think the risk is worth taking, registration after AIP though does not guarantee study permit, is a boost to your study permit application. If you don't have any negative immigration record or criminal and medical issue, I think you should take this offer, not taking it will make you application subject to another eligibility review because your letter of acceptance will no longer be valid |

Thank you so much @ Engager69, I have done as you suggested but it's still not working. It's really frustrating. Had to download Adobe reader X as suggested on the CIC help page, yet nothing. I clicked to check the properties of this form and the attached is what I saw. It is obvious that the isn't allowing the filling of the form. I tired, please is there anything else I can try? Muslimity: Well, my mum was in this situation 6 years ago. Not enough funds to sponsor me to come to Canada for undergrad (u-Manitoba). I swore that I was going to hustle and support myself If she let me come here but I just turned 16 too almost the same age as your boy. Considering the finances and the fact that she didn’t want wahala. She sent me to Ukraine to study computer science(what I wanted but not where I wanted). She sponsored me through out my studies without any problems, I had a comfortable life but wasn’t where I wanted. Fast forward to 2018. Finished undergrad went to Nigeria for nysc. While in nysc camp, we started applications for masters in Canada. Did all the necessary things and I applied for visa. Got it and left after nysc 2019. Came to Canada, things weren’t going as planned cos my family was going through a lot. I’ve been hustling here in Canada since I came. It hasn’t been easy but I’m still pushing. I’m 22 now and trust me it’s not easy schooling and supporting yourself. I don’t know the kinda drive your boy has but life doesn’t always go as you want it to. I am here finally. It took 6 years to finally get here and I’m glad she didn’t take the risk of throwing me here 6 years ago. Not the end goal but we’re still getting there. Remember you might not be where you want to be but make sure you’re always one step closer. This story long small but my own 2cents. ✌️ 21 Likes |
