The truth is you have to do due diligence and understand at least 90% of whatever you decide to invest your time and money in to earn money online.

Remove greed for quick gain from your mind and learn a digital skill. It is greed that push people into Forex and other online trading when they don't TRULY UNDERSTAND or have complete information about it.

The best way to earn online is to learn a skill and sell that skill online.

If you know how to write, offer writing services on freelance platform... Or write a book and publish it online...learn everything about it first.

If you know graphics, same thing. Offer graphics design services.

Video editing? Same thing... Offer it online but be extremely good at it to beat the competition.

Learn any digital sellable skill and sell it online.

Don't carry half knowledge into the online market place and expect to make money... You'll only end up wasting your time and even money.

Back then, I searched for how to make money online, and I'm still searching... Information I got here gave me some ideas to start... The first attempt didn't end well because I went into something that I didn't fully understand...

So I learnt something else and mastered it and I made my first ten thousand dollars ($10,000) from that skill and still making money from it till now... Between last night and a little while ago, I did a job that I earned $50 from... Convert to naira and see how much.

It's not like you'll get the jobs often but I can guarantee you that if you learn a skill well and master it, you will earn at least $100 every month to take care of your basic necessities... And if you are patient and improve yourself, you can even earn minimum of $500-$800 monthly online.

The most important skill online is SELLING... your skills are great, but you need to learn how to sell them to prospects.

Spend the next 1 or 2 months to master Paid Ads.

Start with Facebook, it's easier to learn... Master how to drive traffic from Facebook Ads to your website.

You can later advance to Google & YouTube (but Facebook first)

With the things you know already you can be making money even if you don't have customers... there are a lot of people at home who seriously interested in learning a digital skill, especially students. You can turn what you know to a course & sell to them.

The only problem is locating them online... this is why its important that you master how to drive traffic online.

Traffic from Paid Ads... notice I didn't mention organic traffic & SEO. Its take time to get results, you don't need them.

I see someone mentioned Admob... Yes, it's a good way to make money online just like Adsense (its actually the same thing with Admob just that it runs on web)... there's also CPA, affiliate marketing, etc...

The BOTTOM LINE is that you need traffic to make any of these ventures work.

Invest your money & time to learn master Paid Ads... Paid Ads are very cheap when you're targeting Nigerians because the competition is low... so learn it, it's the best thing you can do for yourself.

You might also want to add list building & email marketing to what you'll learn... At this level, you won't have to pay everytime for traffic.

There are lot of Facebook Ads related courses on YouTube... Also, check out channels like - Peng Joon, Kevin David, Miles Beckler... they have good videos on FB Ads.

If you have cash, I'll you to buy a course on Udemy... your learning will be better organized with Udemy unlike YouTube videos.

Blogging: You probably had more expectation than you offered. Simply carve a niche for yourself and be original in your rich content. Making money from blogging is not easy, you have to work hard and do a lot of SEO. Remember, it takes time too.

Forex trading: permit me to call this something close to gamble.

Upwork: Getting a job in upwork is not easy. I've been with them since Olance days with just 3 unskilled jobs though I don't usually. However, your skills should get you some good tasks. Try freelancer or other sites, then tell your clients there to write a short review of your service to Upwork. They have that feature. So many clients prefer dealing with those with good track record already. Also try to keep your rate as low as possible until you get good reviews.

The problem is that you are jumping from one source of business to another.

I've been doing same online biz for more than 15yrs and Its been profitable.


There are lots of people jumping into that space....and not doing shishi.

For you to be profitable with any business..you need to spend 10,000 hours dedicated to it.

You seem to be more into programming....freelancing could have worked for you. But you lacked selling skills.

Jobs won't fall into your laps online coz you are a programmer.

There are one million programmers out there. The ones who make money freelancing are the one who can sell.


My advice....start with fiver.

Check out those in programming who have lots of reviews.

Then curate your own profile similar to theirs.

Then offer to do a $50 job for $10. You will get people who need help but don't have much money. Do the job. Get them to give reviews.

Once you get 10-20 reviews...increase your pricing.

When you saturate that niche...move to upwork.

Most normal skills are a dime a zodozen online. Those who TRULY WIN are the ones who have selling and marketing skills. Do simple programming jobs.

I will talk about Web Design. This is because Freelancing on Upwork has a lot of downsides. Many of these freelance sites are full of Indians and Pakistani users who have found a way to corner the opportunities on those Platforms for themselves, especially Fiverr, Freelancer.com and Upwork. You need to be extra patient and highly skilled to survive on international freelancing platforms. Now, there are many Schools ( Primary, Secondary and Tertiary ) in Nigeria that do not have websites at all or do not have someone to manage and update their websites for them. Why don't you approach Primary and Secondary schools in the state you are to see if you can design websites for them? Make a list of these schools on paper and check online if they have functional websites . Approach the schools that do not have websites and offer to build a website for them at a very affordable price. If your sales approach is turned down, move on to other schools on the list. By the time you cover 5 Local Governments, you should start getting jobs and contracts to build and maintain websites for these schools. You can make a lot of money in this line of business if you are creative with your skills. You can also offer to make existing school websites more interactive and attractive with updated information daily or weekly. Cheers.

Having a skill alone isn't enough, you must put in the work. Call it Online or Offline, the game changing element is MARKETING if you miss it, you're lost But if you've got it, you're MADE.

ONLINE offers great opportunities and the entry barrier is very low in most niches.

I sell services online on Fivers and I'm making it. I withdraw my money via Paypal then to my local Bank account. This has been my own COVID 19 Palliative.

Problem with most internet biz wannabes is wanting everything for FREE you got to invest in courses and mentoring programs.

The fastest way to a place is to follow those who have been there before you.

Try and work for someone that's already making it big in the business to know how they monetize all this stuff. Personally I see online way of making money as second option in making money in real time. One must get one legit thing doing or selling to foot the bill till online stuff pays off. It's gradual process bro. You can't make it legitimately one day.

I do facebook, twitter and Instagram adverts for some small small companies and still yet I still engage myself in salary work because I can stay some months without getting a client to bring online advertisement contracts to my table.
