Norway has a highstandard of living and things are expensive especially when you start doing what every Nigerian does abroad "Converting to naira", it may take weeks to months to get a job, someone on this thread said he didn't get a job until after 6 months

What do you do during that period?

Yes, according to information here and on school websites

The money would be given back to you once you have a Norwegian bank account and necessary deduction have been made (accomodation and dues)

Swears! Can't advise anyone to do that. It's disastrous.

I understood to some extent but below are a few questions I have.

1 the 5m we are required to wire to them is it from there that they will bring out our accomodation abi are we going to also send them accomodation money again

2. My cgpa is 3.08 I want to know the bench mark for the cgpa they collect

3 . Apart from that 5m, registration fee,visa fee , then flight ticked when u want to leave is there any other fee I'm expected to pay

As a PhD student in Norway and other Nordic countries, you're paid for being a PhD student.. You're somewhat regraded as an employee of the institution. There are T&Cs for you to sign before it..

Regards to easy admission, you can't juxtapose it with MSC admission process and besides their MSC application is not really easy.. I recently saw some openings for prospective PhD students which I'll share here :You can go through it and perhaps check Norwegian universities websites respectively and focus on their PhD programmes.

Thank you bro , i tried checking the link above ,but i didnt see anything relating to international law , i was planning on doing master in internatonal commercial law, which i can use to apply for PHD on something like that still there since i heard its easier to get than to get a proper job as i can't practice with my foreign law degree there , advice a brother bro..

Foremost, I think you should check if there's a PhD pathway for MSC in International and Commercial law. If there's a further study,then go with your MSC International and commercial law. The advise to you is let your research plan tailor/align with a professor's or a post doctoral area of specialization/research. That makes them willing to work with you cos they're interested in new findings to their research.


My platinum advise to everyone that wants to further his/her studies after MSC is simple. The easiest/flexible way is to ensure that your MSC degree has a PhD pathway or further study options. Hence it makes it easier and swift for you. The lecturer knows you already and your capability.

From the best of my knowledge, I think a preparatory course is the course/study one takes to fulfill a certain requirement before commencing the main course or programme. If I'm right, residence permit is given to a student staying More than 6mths and if yours falls under that category. I think you're eligible for a visa. You're Green to go!

this university offers one year preparatory program https://usn.no/english
while this university offers bachelor law degree https://uib.no but i have to show norwegian language proficiency which the first university gives a one year program for

but my problem is how to apply and after the one year program will i have to come back and apply for student visa again or can i begin lectures in the other university
