Nnamdi Kanu Comments On The 67 IPOB Members That Were Arrested by kingzizzy: 9:31am On Aug 14, 2020
At about 7 O'clock this morning, August 14th, IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu held an interractive Q & A broadcast in which he took questions from Radio Biafra listeners all over the world. However, before Nnamdi Kanu started taking questions, he commented on the 67 IPOB members arrested yesterday in Imo state. This is what he said:

"Before I throw open the phone lines for our faithful listeners to call in, there is something very important I must say. I want to bring the attention of the world to what the supreme court Governor of Imo state and the Yoruba commissioner of Police are doing in Imo state"

"They arrested 67 people going to see a native Doctor. Since when has going to see a native Doctor become a crime? Our forefathers did it, politicians do it even Christians. The foolish Yoruba commissioner of Police in Imo state arrested 67 people based on future prediction of a crime that has not yet been committed. What did these 67 people do? Were they armed? Is there no longer freedom of movement and worship in a democracy?"

"Everyday they arrest our peaceful members, lock them up, torture them and kill them. While that injustice is happening, many look the other way. They are trying to provoke us into taking up arms just like they did to Boko haram. Boko Haram was once a peaceful group agitating for an Islamic caliphate. It was what the security forces did to them that made them abandon peaceful agitation and pick up arms and Nigeria has been fighting for almost 10 years. Now that IPOB is unarmed and peaceful, everyone is looking the other way at injustice been done to us. If we pick up arms tomorrow, they will not remember that there was a time we were peacefully asking for justice"

"The Supreme court Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinmma, and the foolish Yoruba commissioner of Police for Imo state must release these 67 people, it is not a crime to visit a native Doctor. This level of intimidation and bastardisation of the rule of law has been going on for a very long time. How can you arrest people, parade them, and claim you are doing so because you think they might commit a crime in the future? People that have committed no crime? And the press who should be asking the critical question of what these people did, just buy's into that mockery of justice?

"This is why Africa is poor, the black man cannot reason. How can you arrest unarmed people traveling somewhere but you will never arrest armed herdsmen killing people everywhere? Is it because we have chosen not to be armed in the face injustice been done to us? Let the world remember there was a time we asked for justice and the authorities looked the other way. The 67 people arrested must be released immediately!
