I don't know... Because that's journalism. It's scary that we have an entire generation of individuals who think click-bait sensationalism is acceptable.

If you ask when? Then you're not black enough.

Of course, the media parrots this. They'd be stupid not to. Because as you said, "bad news sells." You watch it on cable news, follow the hashtag, and congratulations, from your couch thousands of miles away, you're now an expert on 'Racism in America'. Even better, you can now rank racism by country. Elated, you proceed to scream in the ears of everyone who cares to listen that racism in the US is simply the worst. Anyone who disagrees is either a bigot, closet racist, internalized racist, ignorant African, or whatever other beautifully-worded label forwarded to you straight from your friends in academia (American universities).

Then you have a shocked pikachu face when another cop is involved in an incident with a black person. Oh that must mean racism is alive and well, you say...

Or maybe, racism in this instance is a misdiagnosis stemming from exaggeration?! In any case, the cycle repeats with the far from negligible contribution of this fervent but ignoble campaign [on threads like this] to grade racism.

You forgot the favourite tag - Uncle Tom grin

BTW, you made great points. Regarding the term "ignorant Africans", don't be surprised as those who claim to favour the right to free speech or "liberty" practice what they don't preach while preaching what they don't practice.

The thread is about his experience in Berlin/Germany. His opinion on racism in the US isn't.

Granted, it's his right to have a sh*t opinion on racism in the US. However, it's also someone else's right to say his opinion is a "misconception."

Especially, when that rebuttal is based on experience living in the US. Now, starting out his response by calling the person a "joke" and concluding by insinuating he is an "ignorant African" is unbecoming.

I did not even focus on that. Only implored him to give it a rest as there'd literally be no end to it if they continue and that his arguments are by no means airtight. For my troubles, he said I was sounding like a "racist white man."

If this degenerated into a shouting match, it'd be because he wasn't fond of someone else living in the US calling his opinion about racism in the US a misconception.

@heisenberg33, let it go. You've made your point. It's on the record. And quite a number of people agree with you.

I was waiting for this. Hope you know you are trolling. @justwise please come and clean up.

Daejoyoung:

it is true, but what you pay is 500 Euros mostly. Still very cheap compared to UK and Canada.
You only pay that if you exceed 8-9 semesters ( about 5 years) on one study program.
You also pay that in Saxony Anhalt when you apply for a 2nd Masters degree after completion of your first masters. However in Saxony Anhalt, you can break down the 500 Euros into 90 euros per month.
Thank you my brother, do you know if been enrolled in a PhD program would be accepted as a job for the purpose of getting a German citizenship after spending seven years in the country?

Someone already did. Anybody can answer anybody’s question here if they have the information. My response does not make it truer or better.

Okay thanks

Please don’t do this, don’t kill someone because of chocolates. How much is chocolate, forgive and forget.

Nigerians working in post office and immigration are fond of eating anything eatable. It is an abomination to poison a food that you know that someone can eat it.

It's not only edibles steal oga!! They steal people's very expensive shoes, gadgets et al

I think all these arguments are derailing the thread. The op is writing from his own personal experiences so let him be.

@All

Please lets not derail this thread by arguing about racism in America vs Germany. It was not the purpose of this thread it was just a mention.

You all are free to open another thread to trash that out.

Thank you.
