Why must you think in such a backward manner? You sound like you are waiting for Lagos to retrogress while other states are opening up. If that is your wish then you will be disappointed, because if the emergence of Abuja couldn't derail the progress of Lagos, your pessimistic prognosis won't either. There's something called 'shared prosperity', that should be your thinking unless you are an enemy of progress. Igbos like you should learn to accept that others can also prosper in life without igbo input.

Lagos is already losing the funds it illegally gets because yoruba n hausa that led this country for the last 50 years.

Once all the 6 rover n seaports in eastern nigeria reopens, lagos will fall

One thing is that Yorubas will never feel bad about this. not Yorubas that I know, they are not people who get sad when they see other regions making waves, they believe in one Nigeria more than any other tribe.

Some people like you just like to create divides that is not there. Personally I'm too happy about this. I'm a field engineer who resides in Lagos but gets contracts across every state in Nigeria. I'm currently in Enugu fixing machines for a hotel, my experience here is not that palatable. I could remember buying a spanner I will buy at #100 in Lagos at #350/#400 here in Enugu, why? They complain they clear and transport there goods from Lagos, making me spending extra on everything I buy here. This is npt my first experience, it is always like this when I move far away from Lagos axis. Not mentioning how I suffer just to get a simple machine parts that you will even get by the road side in Lagos.

This is a welcome development that people like me will find so appealing. But for those tribal bigots, they won't see beyond economic impacts this will have in every part of the country.

Talking about Lagos coming down, u dey whyne me ni? As somebody has said, Lagos keeps going stronger even when the country's capital was moved to Abuja. You want to tell me Lagos depends only on seaports? Either you like it or not, Lagos is the biggest economic state in Nigeria and its position won't fall behind in Africa. Let me just burst your bubble, I'm very sure you won't know about Lekki deep seaport under construction, Dangote refinery that will also produce petrochemical and fertilizer. Many massive projects still under construction in that state o boy. Don't let me talk about headquarters of many organisations being majorly situated in Lagos. And another truth is that any average Nigerian who has huge money and want to invest hugely will think Lagos first, hausas will hardly go to SS/SE but Lagos to spend their money for investment. Igbos too will find it unreasonable to go to North to invest huge but find Lagos to be the right avenue. Just too many things to mention. Tell me how having another seaport at other regions will affect this state called Lagos.

Let's stop this tribal friction we tend to create, let's speak for the unity of one Nigeria. [/quote

The biggest rubbish here is that the Yoruba believe in one Nigeria more than anyone. My brother deep within you, you know you lied

Lagos didn't grow stronger wen the capital was moved from there because of any other reason except the fact that all eastern ports was closed by yoruba n hausa presidents.

Once the 6 river and seaports in the east reopens, lagos will fall to the level it is supposed to be financially.

( Remember, its private sector investment with the expected rate of return on investment base on time value of money. Decongestion of Lagos port can translate into overall lost of revenue for the state)

A redirection of Igbo's economic dynamism in Lagos + the kicking off, of Africa continental free trade area by the first of January 2021 is economically not a good news for the SW period.

U are too myopic because of your hatred for anything Yoruba, your economics conspiracy theories won't move us an inch, nation's capital has been moved to Abuja since how many years now, has it affected south west economic hub? You are still thinking low, we need rivers to develop so stress can be taking off Lagos a bit. Because there is oil in rivers does not mean it should be greater than Lagos, is Texas more economically viable than State of Newyork and California? and has beijiin china changed the destiny of Hongkong. They are prospering all together.

President Obasanjo your brother gave Lagos ports the edge over others. Why didn't he think that everyone should prosper together.

This will lift a heavy burden from Lagos and the people that always chant that Lagos is what it is only because of the seaport can actually create a bigger Lagos in their region with this feat.

Nice one APC, Buhari, Amaechi, and Hadiza.

But u guys claim Lagos port is the only port in Nigeria that can receive such vessel.

Why so many lies

People like you are the reason why Nigeria is where it is today. Your brains are always like: Igbo VS Yoruba. Tribalism is bad. No nation can grow with it but it's ironic how everybody wants a developed country yet no one actually wants it.

What you accuse others of doing is also done by ur region. One man has been a governor in Lagos since 1999 and you are accusing north of wanting to remain in power. Where outside the south west do ur people have investment in if u believe in one Nigeria. If you believ in one Nigeria, pinpoint Yoruba businesses and investments in the north and south east

Well said. Igbo and Yoruba must stop this online fight between them. This type of fight is what keeps those that want to devide us at the top. The primitive premodial sentiment against each other is just alarming.

No good mind functions successfully under that umbrella party. Most of them could not shine under the greatest evil party PDP. They can only achieve something on a different ideology platform APC.
The ideology of just looting every everything without exception to sensitive key developmental projects is the greatest evil perpetrated by PDP. They just loot everything without control,

power project ! Looted
Rail project!! looted
Roads looted
Educations looted
Shipping Ports looted
Airport looted
agriculture looted.
even security funds was looted

This are key to functional economy that should be taking seriously but no they will rather share the money and leave the masses with nothing or seriously dilapidated infrastructures.

You and your kind just can not curb your desire for the demise of Lagos state, obviously, you don't know the meaning of Lagos.

Lagos is not just about seaport, Lagos is the industrial heart of Nigeria, it's the commercial capital, entertainment capital, literary, arts and culture capital, banking, finance, media, insurance capital and so on, these are the things and qualities PH or any other state or city in Africa can not duplicate.

Stop letting your hateful, ignorant and tribal ways misguid you.

Lagos has stolen alot from Rivers and the Niger Delta. The IOCs Headquartered in Lagos has deprived Niger Deltans of job opportunities and also deprived the immediate environment of development. The communities that host the operations of these IOCs are degraded and the natives lose their means of livelihood while Lagos and Yorubas benefit from their misery.

Yorubas account for less than 1% of Nigerias oil, yet are the most visible ethnicity employed in Oil and Gas sector. And have in collaboration with Yoruba press, depicted the Niger Delta as a very violent place that isn't safe for any activity except drilling oil and running away fast. It's a shame.

Money realised from Niger Delta oil and Gas (emphasis on gas) is what is running Nigeria. What is banking, insurance, entertainment, literary and arts etc etc without Niger Delta cash flow.

Lagos has attained it's number 1 position in Nigeria because of our skewed system in Nigeria. Had Nigeria been running a true federal system, we won't be having this discussion. Your benefiting from the disadvantage of others and you're bragging your number 1.

Rivers is blessed by God and nature and finely poised to achieve greatness. We only need Nigeria to do the right thing.
