Stevenssen:Thanks alot for the timely reply. I already got two schools in Winnipeg for PGD...Take a look at them for me please. 1. https://www.mastersportal.com/studies/152920/marketing-management.html 2. https://www.mastersportal.com/studies/152922/financial-management.html What are these schools like?, Is Winnipeg a good destination for international students? These are the courses i can find suitable and i feel they are kind of related to my discipline. PGD in International Relations is just 1 year. I won't want to go for that as the major aim is the PGWP. What's your advice regarding my choices please? |

Beckley40: No regret necessary at this point. You're at the right platform. So long as you're here, I see no reason why you should make further mistakes because all the information necessary for admission and visa application is available on this platform for free consumption. In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out here for professional assistance. It will end in praise. 3 Likes |

Cannydude:The two courses are in the same school (U of Winnipeg). The school is good and Winnipeg is a good destination. Prepare your application well and relate the course you chose to international relations. Let the VO see the relationship between the two courses and why you chose marketing or financial management. All the best |

Ichiebillion: 1) it should be stated on schools course info the length of course though I doubt a 3semester program is 2yrs. 2) Good, it was clearly stated. Whixh is the one that can help you towards PR. 1 Like |

sewenswepzy: 1) its possible but only if your grades at the end of your study are good. If there are you can apply for a masters 2)After your 1yr PGD program and which to further for a masters, you dont apply for another study permit but rather you apply for an extension of your stay by mostly submitting the new admission letter (masters or PGD) and statement of account to show you can handle your tuition and living expenses for at least a year. The chances are high as long as you submit those documents, hardly get denied and feedback takes at least a month. 3) yes it will if the its a total of 2yrs(first program and the second) NB if you are insisting on doing the masters, you can go ahead with 1yr PGD and den the masters but if you ain't, you just apply for a 2yrs PGD program which saves you the stress of applying for an extension of your stay. 1 Like |

UBCcookies: The chances of getting a refusal after medical request is passed and BVL been initiated is very slim. I have come to understand that at this stage in every TRV application, the visa officer has passed the ELIGIBILITY assessment of the applicant and thus awaiting for the travel restrictions to be eased by the Government of Canada as well as the VAC to reopen before passport request can be sent to the applicant. (This information is evident from the GCMS notes, I vetted recently from students and PR applicants) No one can tell for sure how long the entire process could last due to the unforeseen conditions associated with the novel COVID-19 pandemic as various Visa offices are presently working with critical and limited staffs. Hence, the increase in visa processing times. You can only be optimistic and keep sending emails to the Nairobi immigration department via this official email address nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask. It will end in praise. 4 Likes |

engrlege: You can proceed with your application process. The University of Winnipeg doesn't require english proficiency test for students coming from Nigeria. Please endeavour to peruse through the tuition fees to know if its affordable by you and also its refund policy after tuition payment. In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out here for professional assistance. It will end in praise. 1 Like |

MayAmy: Thanks for the amazing compliments about me and best wishes. It couldn't have been made possible without the presence of the honourable members of this platform. So I appreciate you all for the opportunity to contribute my quota on this thread. In retrospect to your enquiry about financial sponsorship documents to be prepared by the church. I would enumerate the below information; 1. Certificate of Incorporation (shortlisting the names of the Trustees in the church). 2. Letter of Sponsorship. 3. Financial Resources (Six (6) months bank statement of the church). 4. Resolution letter (declaring their awareness and agreement to sponsor your education in Canada). 5. Bank Reference letter supporting the statement of account. 6. Proof that you're a bonafide member of the church (ID card and reference letter from the organization you belong to in the church as well as pictures with your fellow members in the church). 7. Payment of the entire tuition fees from the church bank account, and highlighting the date on the SOA. 8. A domicilary account in your name showing transfer/deposit of equivalent $10,000CAD from the church in support of your annual living expenses. The above documents should be sufficient to demonstrate their ability to finance your studies in Canada. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out here. Ichiebillion: Hello Ichiebillion, Semesters may vary from institution and depending also on the course type. Most programs or institution runs on a trimester which may also be up to one year in length. So you may want to check with your DLI and ascertain the actual duration of the course curriculum. It shouldn't be miscontrued, a 1yr program is equally eligible for a PGWP but Time may count as a factor against it. You can go back some few pages where respective views were shared by some knowledgeable people here. All the best 1 Like |

Alright, thank you so much for your response Frankrobbn1. But a quick one please. I won't be getting my new letter of admission until next year. As such, will it be okay to send a letter of defferal (which is different from the LOA) to IRCC? Thank you! Frankrobbn1: |

Good afternoon everyone. I am new here and please I need guidance. I am 30. I hold a masters degree( PT), concluded last year. My gp is 3.8 My bsc is a 2.2 , not a good result to be honest. Graduated 2011, started working 2013 but stopped working 2015. I'm married with two kids. My husband runs his own business, duly registered and pays tax, has tax clearance and all. He will be the sponsor. Our aim is to migrate to Canada as a family. I was following the Express entry thread but my score is really low. So now we decided to try the school route. I honestly dont know where to start from and need help please. With my bsc, I know I can't get admission to study for another masters over there. Please what do you suggest I do? I need help with university suggestions( reasonable school rates), schools that will make us eligible to apply for PR, location ideal for family. My kids are less than 4yrs, so I know they wont be starting school yet. What is the first step to take? My transcript is being evaluated by WES at the moment. I know I have to write ielts, I have been practicing and will take the exam next month. I intend to study nursing. I have a science background, bsc in microbiology but masters was in a professional field. If there's a link where I can read up on, pls paste as well. I await your responses. Please help. Thanks 1 Like |

Ujeinijobog: Letter of deferral is fine provided that it covers relevant information about the program start date, duration, tuition fees, DLI number of the school etc. However, I would best suggest you chill until the end of the month before sending the updated letter to IRCC. Hello all, please is it necessary to get my transcripts evaluated by WES before applying for a masters degree in Canada? Or is this requirement only for those applying for PR. For those of you that have gotten an admission how did you get your transcripts/ degree certificates evaluated? Also is IELTS a necessity for Nigerian graduates? |

Frankrobbn1: Thank you for this information it will really help, I wanted to apply for my under graduate program in the university of Regina. I completed the application and I am been told to pay the application fee before they can process my application. But I didn’t saw anywhere in the portal where I am to post my documents because they didn’t ask of it. Is it the way they do it there? |
