I noticed that b4 giving them the rank of lieutenants, some of the cadet officers had 2-3 strokes on their soldiers while d rest had 1 stoke. I wanted to ask, why?

if it was SSC, you’ll only see yellow colors everywhere...you won’t see any red or blue so yes it’s DSSC

For the bars... They are appointment holders in the academy. SSC guys wear all nda appointment except that of ASUO and ACA. They have lcpl, cpl, Sgt, csm, Rsm csuo and bsuo. Those stripes are for Sgt below appointment

It's part of the training on basic Jungle survival. It's similar to the training course NAF combat pilot undergo known as SERE (Survival, Evasion Resistance and Escape).
Most prolly those detachment of soldiers are specialised in jungle warfare so it's a necessity, they're even taught how to identify edible leaves and poisonous ones. It's guerilling but fun.
